We've gone to several different schools. This is the very best school in our oppinion. We had to move out of the area for a while. We loved the school so much that we traveled over an hour every day just for our son to attend here.Staff and teachers are great! Parents are very involved.Great school!

My son got overflowed to Lowell last year because his neighborhood school was full. He loved it there, and we were honestly sad to return to the higher ranked neighborhood school this year. Programs at most Boise Independent School District schools are similar, so little things like a big library, Title One benefits and a huge multipurpose field make a difference. It was also nice to expose my son to a greater diversity in people than he normally sees now. There are lots of refugee children at Lowell from all over, which increaes ESL and drops average test scores, but my son made so many cool and interesting friends, and everyone in his class learned a lot.

My child goes to the full day Kindergarten, Mrs. Kyzer's class, and it's been wonderful. Nothing but positive in all aspects. She is so loving, and patient, and has great techniques to keep the kids well behaved without being abrasive . The principal is new this is new this year, and he seems great. The school is very organized and we are proud to say that our child goes to Lowell Elementary.

Lowell is an amazing school that I feel lucky to have my special needs child in. From the paragon of a principal (I seriously love her & wish she were my family), to the teachers and the fantastic special needs staff they have been incredibly open, supportive, helpful and compassionate working as a team with me; I can't even imagine moving schools. My child is a handful to put it mildly. They have always done the best for everyone involved and been fair, non-judgmental and non-reactive when issues have come up. I am amazed at how strong the leadership is and things that I have a hard time with are handled with dignity and taken in stride with calm confidence. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the music program was seriously dull (their working on it) and availability or access to more qualified staff for special needs kids would definitely be helpful.

I would LOVE to give this school a '5' rating but cannot do so because of the leadership. The teachers are wonderful and the paraprofessionals outstanding! However, the administration is lacking in anything close to ethical behavior or practices. Unbelievable. The saving grace is that the children have such terrific teachers, it's not worth thinking about all the negatives. My son loves his teachers and is doing very well academically and socially.
