This school has answered every need, want and hope for my child.

One of my deepest regrets is subjecting my child to Lyndon Academy for several years. This school touts an advanced curriculum, but really, they study advanced concepts without ensuring the children master the fundamentals. My child had all AΓÇÖs, with an occasional B, each grading period for his tenure at the school. When he changed schools, we learned that he was a little behind in reading and math. Lyndon advertises that they teach a year ahead and while that may be true, IΓÇÖm not sure how well theyΓÇÖre doing it. While a few of the teachers we experienced left a lot to be desired, I was underwhelmed by both of his English teachers, particularly last yearΓÇÖs. Many of the other parents I spoke with agreed. She sent home a writing rubric in the very beginning of the year stating that my child would need help with writing. I was shocked because neither he, nor his classmates had learned to write yet. As a proactive parent, I asked for tutoring/resources to help. She said I was overreacting and to ΓÇ£wait and seeΓÇ¥. From that point forward, she said he was doing amazing, but the papers I saw said otherwise. This school touts free tutoring, but really, itΓÇÖs left to the teacherΓÇÖs discretion and she didnΓÇÖt see fit. I had to find my own resources and help him myself. In my opinion, the headmaster doesnΓÇÖt believe in letting children be children and she imparts that belief on her staff. The schoolΓÇÖs culture comes across as that of a military school. I volunteered at the school on several occasions and was there frequently to have lunch with my child, so I saw it in motion. Although lunch is included in their tuition, children who donΓÇÖt wish to partake had no alternatives. I asked to bring lunch for my child and was told no, so he would be ravenous by the end of the school day. On the rare instances that I was unable to bring a snack, he cried because he was so hungry. While I highlighted a lot of what I deem to be lacking with the school, IΓÇÖd be remiss if I didnΓÇÖt give kudos to Mr. Yaden, the schoolΓÇÖs music director. He has a love for music and does great job of sharing it with the children. However, I was put off by the school mandating THREE performances a year, all of which are offsite and one of which is at cost to the parents. If a child doesnΓÇÖt attend, they will receive a zero, which weighs heavily on their grade. ItΓÇÖs things like this, and the extremely inflexible culture that have teachers and families alike leaving the school. Just this year alone, several teachers left as well as a host of families. If this school doesnΓÇÖt get its act together, I donΓÇÖt think it will be around in 5 years, and that may not be such a bad thing.

Great love the teaching environment and academics

We came to Lyndon from a well known Christian private school in Milton where my daughter attended school for four years. She had been bullied, her self confidence had been erased, she could speak very little Spanish, she was behind in math (common core) and worst of all her joyful light had been extinguished. It was heartbreaking. My deepest regret is that I did not look into Lyndon Academy sooner. The staff has been amazing; they all greet us with a smile by name, they are great at communicating with us (the good and the bad), they're always willing to meet with us and we always feel like we matter. Our daughter has food allergies and the staff has been very accommodating; she's allowed to bring her own lunch, keep peanut free treats in the lunchroom just in case something comes up and the some of the staff have been excellent about reaching out to us before hand when food will be involved in classroom activities. Now when we ask our daughter how her day was, her response is almost always "It was awesome!". She is so happy, she has friends and feels like she fits in, she loves having a locker, moving from class to class, having different teachers for each subject and the small class size allows her to focus on her work. Her academic performance is amazing; she is no longer behind in math - in fact she's an A student in math, she's speaking Spanish AND Mandarin, she's involved in extra curricular activities offered by Lyndon; she absolutely loves school again but best of all our daughter has her light back and we have Lyndon Academy to thank for that. Note: For us Lyndon Academy was a much different academic environment then what we were used to previously so our first quarter was rough academically. Our daughter did well but we all felt overwhelmed. However, somewhere in the second quarter we found our groove and now it feels more manageable. Don't get me wrong, it's still challenging; our daughter puts forth a lot of effort but she feels proud of all of her accomplishments. Also, I really appreciate that we are not constantly being hit up for fundraising, donations, projects, school supplies (those are included with tuition!), etc. At Lyndon we have participated in casual for a cause once a month, teacher appreciation and the holiday fund for teachers - all of it is optional! We are very happy here and highly recommend Lyndon!

Lyndon Academy is above and beyond the best school our children have ever attended. The amazing faculty and staff encourage, coach, praise and inspire students to be the very best they can be academically, while helping them become involved and active, tri-lingual business leaders of the future. We are forever grateful to Lyndon Academy for exceeding our expectations in regards to the education of our children, with test scores that speak volumes about the curriculum and the instructors teaching it (scores in the 90th percentile nationally... amazing). Unfortunately, we relocated out of state - but the exemplary education our children received at Lyndon Academy gave them a definite advantage over others. Our son was one of under 60 new students accepted into a program that dual enrolls high school students for college classes. Yes - our son is already on his college path as a freshman, and will graduate from high school with his Associate's Degree. Our daughter, who is currently a 6th grader, transitioned smoothly into an academically-advanced middle school magnet program and is already on the same path as our son. We attribute the children's success to test scores and overall achievement at Lyndon. If you are looking for a growing school that focuses on your child's future, look no further - you have found the best in Lyndon Academy!
