This year (2016-2017) my son is in 8th grade and my daughter is in 5th. Both have attended SHCA since kindergarten. My wife and I waited 12 years to have our kids, and we prayed all those years for a Christian school where our kids could receive a quality education with a Christian worldview and develop long-term relationships with peers and teachers. SHCA certainly has been the answer to our prayers. The school is academically and administratively excellent. Over the years we have repeatedly observed the intentional focus of the teachers and staff to foster a love of life, learning and Christ-like character. We are excited about the new high school program which begins 2017-2018, just in time for our son to begin his freshman year. We highly anticipate the high school program will continue the same focus of education and character-building which has been such an outstanding component of the K-8th program. Regards, Mike and Julyn Farrington

We started looking for elementary schools for our son when he was still in preschool. The nearby public school was just "okay" and I knew he needed more than that. He's an extremely bright child, but has a summer birthday and is not as emotionally ready as other kindergartners. We started touring private schools and found that most of them were either too small (not enough extracurricular activities) or too expensive. Some of the schools we considered seemed to have the Christian education right, but not necessarily a well-rounded academic curriculum. We finally landed at SHCA and the moment we began our tour, I knew it was the right place for our son. Small class sizes, smiling teachers and students, a huge computer lab and gym, a library, art, music and Spanish classes. The price is very affordable (approx $8k per year) which is on the low end of the private school spectrum. When we enrolled our son, we decided to actually move closer to the school even though my husband would have to drive a little further to work each day. This has made car line much easier. We love the Buford / Sugar Hill area and are so happy we moved closer to the school. My son is almost done with his kindergarten year now and he's grown so much! He's so much more confident, mature, and can read like a 2nd grader! I'm amazed! He's drafting, writing and editing stories in his class (and he's 5 years old!!). Truly amazing!

We moved our oldest daughter from public school to SHCA as we wanted a greater sense of community, freedom in our faith and an improved child/teacher ratio. She is now in her second year with the school exceeding our expectations. The monetary investment into a private school was our greatest obstacle. Getting over the monetary hump took some serious planning, but we are VERY pleased with the trade-off. We have since enrolled our two other children.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy is FANTASTIC! My daughter has attended SHCA for the last 5 years. I remember being a bit nervous about my little girl starting Kindergarten and going to tour the public school near our home. I came home in tears! They were failing their basic state reading requirements, the teachers appeared miserable. I was told that they were considering not allowing the kids to say the Pledge of Allegiance because it might offend someone. I could not imagine leaving my daughter in a place that I did not feel was safe and not giving her the education she deserved. I found SHCA and WE LOVE IT! From the moment we walked in, it was one of the most loving environments we had ever been in. The kids kick start their day with Praise & Worship, Saying the Pledge of Allegiance, learning the National Anthem and Star Spangle Banner. The school is ACSI & SACS Accredited and provides an extremely high standard of education. All of the teachers are phenomenal & truly care about your childs education. SHCA just scored 99% for the IBTS testing! I love having a Christian School whose education far exceeds other schools and has a loving safe environment for my child.

I am so glad that we have chosen Sugar Hill Christian Academy for our son. The teachers are amazing. What I love the most is that the teachers are able and encouraged to adapt their teaching to each individual child. There are small classes and more individualized instruction. My child always looks forward to going to school and has even lamented on a weekend or snow day that he wishes he could go to school. While he is only in kindergarten, he has come home talking to me about what he has learned that I remember learning much later in my schooling. Great teachers, great staff, great parental involvement and I also like how they handle discipline there. Every day starts with praise and worship. This gets the kids on their feet and moving, which I feel also helps open up their minds to get them prepared to take on the day and learn new things. There is plenty of instruction time, but also time for recess, PE, arts and crafts, music and computer enrichment, this is something that is becoming so very rare in schools these days, so I am thankful that SHCA still has this time in place. Highly recommend this school!
