Not good at all. Administration is of no help and some of the counselors are more of a problem than help. Communication is terrible. There is no control at all in this school, I am very disappointed!!!!!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about SMS, as I am a 7th grade parent there. I had many of my son's friends in 6th grade go to another school because of somethings that were said about the school, but you don't knock it until you try it! He has had nothing but a great team of teachers and administration. As we are relocating to another state, it will be hard to replace such great people as the ones at SMS. Go Tigers!

Stockbridge Middle School is a great school with a new team of dedicated administrators as well as teachers. This school gets a bad rep due to the fact that many of the students lack work ethic and don't always work to their potential. Parents of students of this school need to become more involved with the school and activities in order to help students work to their full potential and put forth quality work. Parental involvement and student accountability is needed to help this school go from ok to exceptional.

Parents always want to blame schools because their children are not doing well. Instead of blaming someone else for your child. Take the time to speak with the teachers or the principals in the school. They are there to help you. Ask your child or teacher how you can help them improve their grades. Get them a tutot to assist. Try to particiapte in your childs education. Involve yourself once and a while in school functions, have lunch with your child. See who they are hanging with. Being new to middle school, I noticed that parents felt that the kids were grown ups and can be on their own. Don't forget they really are children and they still need to be quided in the right direction. Don't throw them to school and expect them to act like adults..

"I beleive that Stockbridge Middle is a great school to attend. I have worked at this Middle School for 11 years, teachers there are great. Some of the parents are saying that this is a bad school, a parent has said the school need to let the parents get involved in the school more. A parent should come and be more active in the daily activities of there children. And stop criticizing the school, see forself whar actually happes. The parents are telling the children, ""they do not have to do what he teacher tell them todo."" And as for a Dutchtown students that came to our school they are very disrespectful to the teachers. I see more of Dutchtown students in the halls instead of in class since school started this year. And yes we make our boys wear there shirts tucked inside of there pants and the girls have to dress appropriate."
