Horrible. I hated this school. Do not send your kid here if it's the last thing you do.

Our child attends this school and has flourished beautifully so far. The administration has been wonderful and the teachers have been very attentive and communicative. We love the creativity we see on a daily basis in the pre-school, which has really helped fuel the creativity in our child. In addition, the amount of Spanish she is speaking is amazing at such a young age. The school has helped turn our child outward in a positive way and we look forward to see how she continues to grow at this school. I would recommend some of the summer camps to parents that want to see what the school is about. They have a great selection of them, and my child came home saying she loved them all.

This school wants to be great, but unfortunately they have no room to grow. The emphasis is placed in constant pledge funding from parents. This is not a ranked private school with little to no real recognition. They is no real athletic program as there is no gym. The founding parents children get special treatment. Look elsewhere, there are plenty of established private schools in the area that will offer more and prepare your child for higher learning.

Wow - these are all over the place, with reality likely in the middle. We attended St B's for 3 years and then left because our child needed a different environment and educational style - and because we begged for help when our child was coming home every day in tears and received none. Note that the preschool and elementary are distinct. Preschool was fantastic and incredibly well run. True - you are asked to contribute to the levels below (I was on the fundraising task calling other parents), but you can say no. Some teachers mistake constant picking as simple kids stuff and do nothing, which becomes like bullying to a young child. Other teachers are great and caring. If your child needs extra help or extra challenge, St B's does not have the resources. There is no flexibility in the curriculum for true differentiated learning. If your child does not take well to excessive worksheets and little recess, he/ she may not do well there. If you start there and your child has a talent for language or is already bilingual, the Spanish is great. If languages are a struggle or you matriculate in later without a Spanish base, your child is in serious trouble to catch up. We love teaching our child at home, but bristled when teaching how to do word math problems was a requirement imposed on us over the summer. Dear Lord - parents would teach this all over the map. If I am paying that, the school should at a minimum ensure consistency by providing guidance for parents. If you do have difficulties with a teacher, you may be stuck. I can speak only for us, but we received zero help despite being loyal supporters and having a kid who had never been in trouble. It shocked us. I have a review below that is different - because I was asked to write it in response to negative reviews. That is why you see a poor review followed by great ones. Likely all schools do the exact same thing. Translated - do your own homework and do not rely on any of these reviews. I will not slam the school for one atrocious year for which there was no excuse and I cannot forgive, because we had two great years before that. St. B's is not a bad school. It is also not a good fit for everyone. Decide carefully what your child needs and which school is best for your child.

St.B is awesome. My son has been at the school 2 years now and we are thoroughly impressed by the curriculum, teachers, parents and administration. All changes that we have seen have been for the better and we are extremely proud to be a part of the St.B family. The parent association is awesome and extremely active. Parents are encouraged to get involved but there is no guilt if your schedule doesnt allow you to be at the school at all times of the day. You can be involved in whatever way works for you and your family. When searching for a school for my son I was leery of a school that was elitist... I must say that even though there are families of different financial backgrounds I would say any differences noted would be because someone is looking for negativity. As the school expands any financial donation is greatly appreciated but I have never felt pressured to give a certain amount...I feel a $5 donation would be appreciated. My son says that he can't pick just one thing he likes about the school...it is all great. The teachers are exceptional and really go out of their way to get to know every child and work to ensure each child excels.
