I would have given the school 1 star, but there are actually decent teachers who care about the students. The administration, however, is horrible. Never received test scores from previous year, delayed ordering necessary books for months, refusal to answer direct questions or emails. Unless the entire administration, leaves, take your children at your own risk. They do not care about them, only money.

I enrolled my child in this school because I wanted my child to have a Christian education and I liked the small classroom size. Majority of the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The school is very small and close knit; everyone knows one another. Some of the teachers, administration and parents are “cliqued up”. There’s a lot of fraternization going on outside of school hours and favoritism too. Some children were allowed to get away with certain behaviors because of the perks of their parents being “cliqued up”. LCA is overly sensitive to feelings. I understand that it’s a Christian school, but they need to keep in mind that children will be children. Children will call each other names and behave in an unfriendly manner from time to time. Hurt feelings don’t require a phone call or meeting. If the child apologizes, keep it moving. The real world isn’t going to be so kind to tissue paper feelings. I feel my child didn’t learn much at LCA. According to the “test” my child was a straight A and Honor Roll student. The odd facts are that when I would have my child spell a word from the spelling test they received a 96% on or work out a math problem; they couldn't do it without assistance. I don’t believe all of the test scores were truthful. I said something to the teacher. I was astonished when she said, “here at LCA we work very hard to promote and encourage spirits. We don’t like failing students because it can damage self-esteem”. When my child took the Terranova 3 exam (equivalent to the CRCT), I was surprised my child did extremely well. My child has several learning disabilities and looking at the test results, it appeared as if a miracle took place. There’s absolutely no way my child could have done that well without assistance! I believe the test scores were pencil-whipped. I know my child’s capabilities. I raised concerns and was challenging the academic structure. I feel they knew I was on to them and they didn’t want me to pull my child from the school. LCA’s tuition is no more than $4,400. My child was on the GSN Scholarship and LCA received the full scholarship amount that was slightly over $6,000 from GDOE. I would say my child’s class was equivalent to a moderately medium functioning Special Education class. I don't recommend this school for anyone’s child. The teachers are nice but people send their children to school to learn.

We love LCA. The students are loved and cherished. The teachers always go the extra mile. The parents at LCA are just like one big family. You need to come visit the school!

This school is all about nepotism. If you are related to a faculty member you can get away with anything. My child was bullied at this school and nothing was done because the bully was the son of a faculty member and the other bully's dad was a known big money contributor. If you aren't related to a faculty member or donate money to the school, then you child will not be treated fairly. I even tried to go over the teachers and talk to the principal. My child was blamed and now my child has self esteem issues and thinks there is something wrong with them.
