Forsyth Central High School Ratings & Reviews

This school has excellent teachers and staff who are mostly engaged (every school has exceptions). The classes are challenging and test scores are high. FCHS is the only STEM school in the county and it also has an excellent performing arts program. Most students are friendly and happy. Cliques are at a minimum compared to West, South or Lambert. Same with drugs and alcohol...itΓÇÖs there but be a good parent and chances are theyΓÇÖre easier to avoid then at other schools. The student population is modestly sized so classes are not jammed. The sports teams are average but more of the student population can be involved due to lack of being over-populated. Most parents are incredibly happy to have their kids at this school and in this environment.

My daughter attended Central and that's where she developed her passion for graphics arts . Her teachers and counselors were amazing when she went through a tough time, genuinely cared about her and her future. I recommend this school to everyone!

I am entirely blessed to be a part of what they call the "Bulldog Family." Expectations for achievement are appropriately high, but I've never seen a school that offers so much support! Free tutoring is available in all subjects, teachers send out regular updates and have office hours, and the administrators are so inviting. I am beyond thrilled with the quality of education at Forsyth Central, and loving that they have some of the top programs in the state!

This is by far the best school in the county. We have an amazing arts program, which none of the other schools have the ability to boast about. We are a STEM certified school, which means that our school went through extensive judging and critiquing to see if it actually qualified to become accredited, which it did. Our sports teams are rapidly growing in competitiveness. All of the teachers are amazing, I have not had a single incompetent teacher or one that I did not like. The atmosphere at the school is amazing, cliques really don't exist. Everyone here is friends with everyone, we don't have fights, we don't have gang violence, we do not have racism. All of these things are hearsay from people trying to degrade the reputation of an amazing school. All of our administrators are amazing, including our new principal Mr. Young, who is truly trying to improve on an already amazing school. If you decide to take your child to another school in the county you a're harming them not helping them. Nowehere else will you find such a loving community with faculty so passionate about what they do.

This is an excellent school. Although it is the oldest high school in Forsyth County, it is by far the best in terms of caring teachers, challenging academics, availability of athletic programs, drama, chorus, the STEM Academy, and home of the Flash of Crimson (one of the best band programs in the southeastern US). My kids love this school and did not want to go anywhere else when given the option. Yes, there are newer high schools in Forsyth County, but they cannot come close in comparison to Central. Just because other schools in the county might be shiny and new, that does not make them a better school. There is a pride that emanates from FCHS students as they navigate their way through their high school experience. They graduate this school with skills and experiences that have enriched their lives and have prepared them for the road ahead. There is no better high school in Forsyth County. I am the proud parent of two current students and one FCHS honors graduate. If you want your child to get an excellent education and have fun in sports, band, STEM or other activities along the way, enroll them in Forsyth Central. They will love it.
