I am disappointed in the school's assessment and communication process which leave a lot to be desired.

Our son has completed 2 years of EC (also known as pre-K and Kindergarten) and Level 1 (first grade). We give the school an Excellent rating because of two primary factors (1) our son's happiness and (2) his academic progress. He enjoys his time at MSC, respects his teachers and classmates and is happy when he awakes on the morning of a school day. That is all attributed to his learning and social experiences at the school. The academic progress reporting is not similar to our public school experience and therefore was a little outside of our comfort zone. We are becoming more familiar with and accepting of the academic reporting because our son is displaying a profound understanding and application of the traditional subjects i.e. math, reading, and social studies. We give a lot of credit to the school for my son's progress but we would be remiss if we did not note that there is a very high level of parental involvement and care. The parents are very diverse in race, religion, socio-economic status and even political affiliation but we are all friends and interact with each other, socially, outside of the school. We strongly encourage other families to consider MSC and judge the school based on their child's happiness and practical use and understanding of the material that they are taught. We are looking forward to the 2018/2019 school year and our son's experience as a Level 2 (second grade) student.

School should be a place where kids learn about academics while also gaining the skills needed to positively contribute to society. So many schools disregard education of the individual in favor of focusing solely on academics generalized by age. Fortunately, there are schools that recognize that each child is an individual and must be treated as such. The teachers at the Montessori School of Covington understand that each child has areas of strength and weakness, and offers education that builds up the well-being of the child as a person and not merely as a statistic. It is rare to find a school that still devotes its' purpose to true education of the individual, but that is exactly what the Montessori School of Covington does. Keep up the great work!

Could not be more pleased with the high quality education that this school provides. It is obvious that the teachers care about, and strive to ensure the success, of each of the kids. Even from our first observation it was apparent that this is a unique learning environment where the kids are happy to learn and be at school.

"Robert Frost wrote ""Two roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."" There is no better way to describe how I feel about my choice to send my son to this school. Many of the more traditional practices of education are failing; yet it is also difficult to choose a school with all of the conflicting information out there. I learned about Montessori and how many affluent people attribute their successes to their Montessori educations. How is this not more well-known? I also read about the broad spectrum of schools that call themselves ""Montessori"" and what to look for in order to make sure that I found the right one. I have no doubt now that my research was well worth it."
