Both of my children went to this school from K-4 through 8th grade, 2008, and were placed in all Honors classes at SHS. They were easily able to excel at the high school with no struggling or tutoring. They left TCS very proficient in reading, math, and ability to organize and complete complex research reports with no assistance needed from parents (VERY important for high school and beyond) and so much more. They were completely prepared for high school and now at college they are in top 3%, which I attribute to their foundation here. I cherish the memories from this school, and am sad to hear that they are closing.

11 teachers and the entire office staff quit on June 30, 2016. What is going on????? This was one of the best schools in town. Now, why would I want to pay for my grandchild to attend?

My child is attending. We had concerns of their academic levels/progress due to the change in curriculum in recent years. The work that comes home appears to be way below grade level compared to public standards and that of the old curriculum. We took our child to be tested by another private school in the area and were not surprisingly told that the child is seriously lacking in language arts and math. The teachers seem overwhelmed with their workload and ability to handle the students. Administration defends the new curriculum which by the way is aligned with Common Core. They say they do not teach Common Core. Anyone can google Bob Jones and see that it is Common Core approved and that this particular curriculum is marketed towards learning challenged children. So nonetheless, we will be leaving the school after years of pouring money into it via tuition and an absurd amount of fundraising.

This is my child's second year at this school. All the staff, from janitors, teachers and administration (including the principal) are very kind and willing to help in any way needed. There are only two reasons that I didn't give this school 5 stars. There could be better communication for new parents on procedures and how things work with the school. I found / still find myself emailing the staff alot to find out how to do something or when to expect something with regards to my child & the school. I always feel like I am a bother, but they NEVER do OR say anything to make me feel that way. I just know how much I email them & it makes me think I am bothering them too much. The other reason is that I feel that we are constantly paying for things above and beyond what we pay for our child to attend the school. Every time I turn around, they need money for something else...I feel like the tuition should cover SOME of those items. The school IS diverse and I like that my son is experiencing different cultures. The Principal, Mrs. Crickenberger seems to be doing quite a bit with taking this school to the next level and she is fair and easily accessible. I wish this school went past 8th grade & I am praying that they expand it to include High School before my Son gets to 8th grade. Keep up the great work!

Diversity is an issue that the school should address, but has chosen not to address. As a parent of color, I was greatly discouraged by what my child experienced while attending Tabernacle Christian School. A white parent would not understand. Their child was never told on more than one or two occasions that he is the wrong skin color by their peers while in preschool. It does not matter whether or not someone agrees. The fact of the matter is that diverisity is not a priority of this school. Bottomline.
