Horrible home school teachers, who gave up on me

My daughter has had a great experience here. The teachers are phenomenal at Palmetto! She came in during her Junior year and made many new friends! She is also involved in many AP courses and after-school activities. The AICE, Dual Enrollment, and AP classes challenge the students, but the teachers make the course very exciting and encouraging. Regarding the extracurricular activities, my daughter loves them! My only complaint would be that they don't have many sports to offer. However, my daughter has made so many new friends and is getting good exercise while doing so. I cannot recommend this school enough!

"Room for improvement. You get the feeling that some teachers have the attitude of ""out to get you"", don't really care for their students. Excellent PTSA."

I graduated from this school last year, and I have very mixed reviews. If your child is gifted, and would soar in AICE/Dual Enrollment courses, then they will enjoy PHS. The teachers that offer AICE/ DE classes are, for the most part, excellent teachers that are very helpful as well as fun. For the average/lower courses (i.e.; Intensive math/language arts), the teachers are usually very poorly educated, do not like to teach through the individual needs of a student, and lack at their job. If your child would be on those types of classes, do not go to PHS. They will struggle and the school will be a horrible place for them. AICE/DE students usually enjoy their time because they are treated like adults by the teachers of those courses and it is actually quite easy. Staff can be racist/play favorites, lots of fights and drugs (but hey, what HS does not have that?). Clubs are lacking, and guidance cons. are HORRIBLE, you will have to do everything yourself because they barely know anything going on (ex: I asked when our cap and gowns were coming in, she said she had no idea, they were not informed. I turn on the school news and I find my answer).
