My son would have been labeled "EH" (Emotionally Handicapped) by Public Schools, but Weiss showed the patience and recognized "a rose has thorns" and that my son is very intelligent but needed patience to grow. In earlier years, teachers would let him stand back from group and "do karate" (burn off excess energy) and then invite him back to the group. What public school would have done that?! Today, he is in 7th grade and his accomplishments are that he habitually scores VERY well on standardized tests (95% in Math and 97% in Language Arts). He earned placement in the National History Bee the last 2 years (despite claiming that he doesn't like History!). Are there kids there who aren't "gifted", yes. And they are pushed just like my son is. How many schools teach HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY to 6th graders and HIGH SCHOOL Chemistry to 7th graders??? They allow a LOT of flexibility on schedule (my 7th grader is taking 10th grade Math class but 7th grade curriculum). Mr. Simmons has given Zach experiences he wouldn't get in public school (they go to Kennedy Space Center events about 4 times/year). My son doesn't like Language Arts (he's more of an Math/Science engineer type) but Ms. Green has him in the 97th percentile in Language Arts! (he was mid to high 80s before her). VERY good school. I don't get concerned with other kids being gifted or not or how pretty the campus is. I just care that my child is SAFE, nurtured, challenged, and pushed to his potential. Weiss has done ALL of that and we are thankful for Weiss.

With summer approaching, we have been looking back on what has been another amazing year at Weiss from start to finish. Our child has been attending The Weiss School for 4 years now, and we could not be happier. It is such a joy, and relief as a parent to have found a school where our child can thrive and receive the exceptional gifted education he deserves. There has not been one day that he has not looked forward to attending school. In the classroom, he has been pushed to excel and meet his potential. This has always been done in a way that continues to nurture his excitement about learning, and never in a manner that has caused him stress. Outside of the classroom, the parents and administration have been outstanding. We attended the school through the transition from the old administration to the new a couple years ago, and everything was handled in a way that was seamless and has exceeded our expectations. Dr. Ferguson brings enthusiasm for the school and an extreme dedication to the children with her each day when she arrives. She is always visible, accessible, and involved on every level. Anytime I have needed to reach out to her, or any other administrators, with an issue or concern, action has been taken, and the situation has been remedied. Dr. Ferguson is the first one in the building, the last one to leave, and possesses all of the qualities I could wish for to lead my child's school. There are an endless amount of positive things I could say about the extraordinary environment at Weiss and our experience here. We feel beyond grateful every day that the school is here for our child and look forward to beginning another amazing year here in the fall!

Very disappointed. School claims 130 IQ on website and children are accepted who don't meet the score. I've tried many times to meet with the Head of School but she just says what I want to hear and then totally dismisses her promise. Her number one goal is bringing in money into the school (please know I understand that fundraising is a part of running a private school). She doesn't care about the students or teachers.

Currently, I am an 8th grader from the school, and the three years that I've been here were amazing. The experiences I've gained are worth so much, not just the memories, but the professional opportunities we as students are given. To put it simply. I like it here.
