Audubon Park Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

My son has been bullied and the school has failed to address the issue. I had to get family and friends involved and now the school has completed its investigation and has stated based on there evidence not the FL school statue that clearly defines bullying that my child has not been bullied. School does not want to address the issue and fails to communicate appropriately and effectively. The leadership is horrific and the principal is clearly not a professional leader who knows how to remain unbiased. I will not stop advocating for and against bullying.

Way overcrowded! No individualized attention when 28 kids per class & 1200 children in the school! The office staff are very rude. Definitely does not give you the "warm and fuzzy" feeling. Will be putting my child in private school soon.

Has no staff that has a clue about ADHD students, Do not recommend this school to anyone.

As a parent, I have a mixed opinion of Audubon Park, so I gave it a 3-star rating. Here s why: Strengths 1. Always receives an A rating. 2. New, clean building. 3. Classes like art, performing arts and library/media center. 4. Active parent community. 5. Some diversity. Concerns 1. The old principal took over Glenridge Middle this year and other assistant principals left, so the entire leadership team is new. 2. Despite the A rating, academics are not as strong as they could be. For instance, the school has a big tech focus, but the academic purpose behind it isn't clear. Also, I would rather see students doing more projects instead of worksheets. 3. Info on student progress isn't great. Progress reports are generic and pretty useless. 4. 1200 students in a K-5 school! That is 400 over capacity, so there are lots of portables. There are plans for a new K-8 school but it will take years to build. 5. There is always a fundraiser or request for money and supplies from teachers. Always! I feel for families who do not have much to give. 6. It has lots of outreach to parents (texts, robo calls, emails) but it's too much. 7. It could do more to listen to parents' concerns.

We moved here in June 2012 and my son was starting Kindergarten in August. We have had the BEST experience with Audubon! They have so many awesome service projects for the kids to participate for (volunteered basis) Parent Evolvement is amazing, I do not think I have ever seen anything else quite like it. The facility is clean, easy to figure out and very well maintained. Our son's teacher is outstanding!!!!
