This is one tuition free public Charter School that should no longer be funded or operated, because of the teachers. It’s unfortunate when you see/hear why a parent pulled their kids out and not entirely understand until you’re faced with nearly the exact same matters. My child has had been under the worst most heartless care this past school year and we are ALL disgusted. There is no compassion, understanding or effort to better any situation. Instead of them holding their selves accountable for failing to do their part for my child they’ve opted to point fingers….. at my kid. My child has been targeted and singled out by teachers who has no vivid points or facts that stand on besides comparisons. Neither of these “experienced” teachers have control of their class rooms whatsoever. One of my child’s teacher is so far from vocal and follows the direction of another by piggybacking everything she says and does. It is a complete mess. My child has more value and substance and is not receiving any TRUE support from the inside.. period. Like most careless teachers they don’t care and rather write them off and send them away as current…even worse that my child is not problematic in anyway which should make the effort seamless, I think. There are no expectations to hold my child’s hand or give special attention to but there are expectations to be able have control over your classroom and be able to make my child work and understand the material. My suggestions to any parent who is hands on with your child, truly cares about their future, educational growth and educational well begin DO NOT DO NOT send your child here. For whatever reason that you do, please don’t hesitate to challenge EVERYTHING. Mother Theresa Said it best “It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving” Sad to say for my child that love was not given in any way this year in the classroom. On the brighter note DMCS has an absolutely amazing loving Principal. She is great, understands, cares and listens. I appreciate how she leads, encourage and pray that she gets a better and entire new staff that will represent her and DMCS well. Honestly, if they followed her examples and truly listen a lot of this would have never happened and the school would have already been back at an A and parents would be a lot more satisfied.

I have been applying to this school for several years. I have heard great things about this school. Hopefully one day my daughter will get accepted.

My daughter attended here for 2 years she didn't like it. A lot of bulling, high turn over with the teachers it seems like every time my daughter got comfortable the teacher quit or got fired. Wouldn't recommend when you complain about bulling they made it seemed like it was something you did. Glad I transferred.

Stephanie My two children have attend DMCS for the past three years, and we love it. It is an A school unlike many of the public schools in Miami. The best part about the school is that it requires the parents to be involved at least 20hrs a year. They do a lot to help the children succeed, like after school, Saturday, and Spring break tutoring. Teachers are always will to stay after school with student to help them with anything. This is my daughters last year there and trying to find a school that isn't a private school to compare to it is seeming impossible.

My daughter has attended DMC since kintergarten and she is now in 4th grade. The teachers are excellent! I am dissapointed because last year they solely focused on the FCAT. The school does not offer any extra curricular activities such as sports team, music, etc... They went from a C to a D school. I think the principal and administrators did a poor job. There should be a balance on days to have the kids focus on the FCAT and have some days for them to do something else. This is what you get for putting to much pressure on kids with that FCAT. All that tutoring 6 days a week and in class the same thing. I hope this year is different other wise I'm moving my child.
