I have four children that have attended this school. My daughter, who now is in 9th grade, attended all six years. My son, who is in middle school, has dyslexia and ADHD, attended all the years with the exception of 2nd grade. I have a son in third grade and a daughter in kindergarten. I have read all the reviews and all are very truthful, except for this school has gone downhill with our new principal. Before Mrs. peacock this school was ran by a tyrant. I know a harsh word, but it is very fitting. It has taken Mrs. Peacock a few years to get this school running and functioning the way it should. The Vice Principal is a wonderful fit with her and will one day make a great principal. I do not agree with a lot of the rules they are starting to enforce. I may not always express my feelings in the most positive way with the staff, but I am always allowed to voice my opinion. They take abuse and positivity every day. As parents we need to understand the difficulties they face. As the head of the school they need to learn how to discard bad ideas and come up with new solutions. Parents are their children’s best advocates, so a little more understanding in this area would be an improvement. One last thing, I have had amazing teachers and poor teachers. My sons 3rd grade teacher was the reason my son has received the help he needs. Sadly they found out to late and he had to repeat a grade. He had a new group of teachers and those teachers where the worst teachers He had. The staff for the most part loves these children. Sometimes we have had bad experiences, but overall it’s a safe school.

My daughter has been in Lake Mary Elementary for 2 years now, and everything has been absolutely wonderful. Her teachers have been engaging, and their curriculum is very well done, and has helped her to learn at a rate that still shocks me. The office staff is great as well. Everyone is in constant communication with the parents. They provide lots of parent resources and feedback. They have the pickup and dropoff processes down to a science. All in all, I can't find anything to complain about with Lake Mary Elementary.

My daughters attended the VPK program and are now finishing up Kindergarten at LME. When I first went on the campus I was not impressed with the parking situation or the age of the facility...it's just an old school. With that said, the administration and the teachers are awesome. They make you feel welcome and like you are a part (which you are) of your child's education. I think LME is a wonderful school!

My son has been at LMES since kindergarten and is now finishing up third grade. He has ADHD and processes differently than the norm. As a parent I know that he needs extra accommodations but I also know the limitations of the public schools ability to provide constant one on one teaching. In kindergarten I pushed for the school to create an IEP for him, and I will admit that they were slow to address it because he wasn't a behavioral problem. However, once we did, I have had a fantastic working relationship with all of his teachers and administrators working on his behalf. I can't tell you a fairytale ending that my child is now excelling in academia because of all the help, but that is because he probably would learn best in an individualized/one on one teaching structure. The school, however is using all of their resources to to teach him the way he learns best, and still teach the rest of their students. I am so grateful to everyone on the staff!

My son transferred to this school from our zoned elementary school. What a disaster! My son suffers from a learning disabilities, ADHD. He is an intelligent, kind child who wants nothing more than than to be accepted. He was bullied by 2 girls in his class daily. His teachers could have cared less. Administration is a joke. I mentioned these issues to the principal. She did nothing. It was necessary for me to contact a "hot line". She suddenly became proactive. The "guidance" counselor is worse. The receptionist was the only saving grace. I am homeschooling my son now. He is happy and thriving now that he has been removed from such an oppressive environment.
