I would not recommend. My child has struggled at this school and had teachers that would leave her behind and ignore my communications.

As a former student of this school, I was lucky to get adequate teachers. They were borderline strict, but they loved their students very much. I'm afraid they've left when I left five years ago. The STEM program is pretty good and they do host a lot of parent-teacher nights as well as AR (maybe not, I think it's I-Ready now.) The school's administration is a bit poor, however. I've been bullied throughout the school year, once to the point where a girl nearly crushed my hand using the heavy classroom door. The teachers didn't do much about these issues, and once I even fell over due to a medical problem. The PE teacher at the time threatened me to stand up or else she'll change my color (a method to show that the child has done something wrong.) They also discriminated students because of their name or ethnicity. When I first attended the school in Kindergarten (we had portables when I was in Pre-K, so I wasn't truly in Chestnut until the year after,) I was moved to the ESOL class due to my name; (Galeic, French, Spanish, Spanish.) After my teacher noticed something was wrong, I was moved to the regular class, but I was still in ESOL for three years. Since then, the teachers have guided me and even taught me more than the curriculum could, and in 2nd grade, I was placed into the Gifted Program. The teachers try to include the parents in a lot of their events and they even had a Title 1 Center (a place where parents could check out or even buy some resources to help tutor their child at home.) Overall, the school is great, but they do need to tell some of the teachers that they can't give out behavior codes when student cough and such.

Chestnut elementary offer kids a variety of college readiness skills through their STEM labs. The students look forward to the different courses offered in science, technology, engineering and math labs. The school staff is friendly and helpful. The teachers are very professional and caring towards their students. The teachers always get back to me ina timely manner. My 3 grandchildren that have gone to this school have always exceled in reading, math, and science. They have always gotten 4 and 5 in the FCAT scores. I truly recommend this school.

The Best School in Kissimmee, FL. We Moved to Utah for a year with my daughter and after being able to compare the school education...I AM SO HAPPY she was accepted back in this school. She's been here since Pre-K until 2nd Grade and she went back now for 3rd grade...This is the BEST school around and I am so Proud my daughter is part of it. My husband and I, we've been volunteering in different programs such as Junior Achievements, they have different programs that will allow the parents to be involved in their kids education. Their S.T.E.M. program is highly qualified. My daughter says it is very fun yet very educational....They allow other kids around the Osceola School District to come into this school, but they have certain time limit to fill an application. I highly recommend this school :) --- Y.A.
