KIPP Impact Middle School Ratings & Reviews

This particular KIPP school is not aligned with the KIPP Foundation visions. They have a serious problem with bully's as it is not deterred. Teachers are teaching children very controversial subjects, such as Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, and Bisexual current issues, allowing children to watch unrated violent documentaries without parental consent or knowledge, and aligning curriculum to African American issues. If you want your child to get a well rounded college preparatory education, this is not the school to go to. They say their students go to Paxon, Bolles, Stanton Prep, etc. The number of students that get into these schools is minimal (Maybe 4 out of 100 children). They talk a good game but fail to deliver. This school cannot keep its teachers around (over 10 teachers left in one year). Warren Buck gives it his all, including contacting other schools behind the parents backs, trying to get the good students that all left because of him. It is strange how the good reviews are all one day...Maybe Mr. Buck is so desperate to get attention, he has to write his own reviews. This school leader is so narcissistic that he does not know when the kids need more assistance than the school can provide. Parents beware and advocate for your children. This school does not have what it needs in place for high risk kids. It is a great school if you want your children indoctrinated. Wish it were like the other KIPP schools. Our kids need the program.

Be careful of this school! Your child will not learn about the vital curriculum necessary to move on to a good high school. This school has been investigated about its curriculum by Duval County Public Schools. For example, their civics class teaches the children about Lesbian, Gays, Transgender, and Bisexuals, Dirty Wars, and police brutality. They do not teach the children about how the government works and the constitution. My child came out of that school testing a year behind her actual grade. This school does NOT align with the KIPP Foundation. Teachers leave in a mass exodus every year and under the principal Warren Buck, the entire staff from 2013 has left. The band instructors that led the school to their superior rating have left as well. Another note, the promise your child will get into Paxon, Bolles, Episcopal, or Lee Early College is by no means accurate. At most, 5% of the students will achieve this goal. It is a better school than some alternatives, such as Eugene Butler but seriously, look at your child’s work! You cannot trust what they are putting in your child’s head.

KIPP is a tremendous alternative to DCPS schools! Let me list the ways: -A "B" school in an area where all the other open-enrollment schools are D's and F's -Student academic growth is the second highest in the whole county -ALL students get to participate in band, and they get a free instrument! -Step team, basketball, baseball, flag football, cheerleading, and a ton of other electives are offered -the school day is longer to provide remediation to kids that need it -technology everywhere -caring staff that answers phone calls from students to help with homework We love it!
