Overall I've really enjoyed Fort Caroline. Most days I look forward to going to school. I have liked my teachers every year even the one's who others think are mean I can get along with. The school staff took the time to get to know me by name from the start. I have made many good diverse friends here. I have friends of different races, gender, sizes, beliefs, and social classes. When I arrive at school I feel like I'm part of a big family. I sense I belong, I'm accepted even with my goofs and quirks. The staff, my teachers, and my friends are on my side and want me to succeed. My 2 complaints with this school are: 1. No clubs - you can see for yourself on their website. 2. Teachers/Administration leaving in the middle of the year! I think that should be a real ethical issue that is brought up before hiring; teachers should make a commitment for one year.

The worst experience I have ever had as a student. This school is pretty much a trip to insanity. The other students there are mostly rude and lazy. I was lucky to made new friends with the nicer ones, but teasing and arguements always happens. Currently, I have witnessed 4 fights total. The students are into racist and sexual jokes that are never caught be staff.

My child has been attending this school for a year and a half (2016-2017 and 2017-2018, present). This has been the best school my child has attended in Duval County and we've tried other magnet schools. Everyone is professional and courteous, the office staff, teachers, and the administration. Because the school is not that big the teachers and staff know the students individually. My child reports that the students get along for the most part; there are no fights, some verbal disagreements but that's as far as it goes and the races get along. I see many of the children at this school look to be very happy with high self-esteem. The school has been academically demanding at times. My child as an AP and Honors student has often had homework on the weekend and during holidays, but I believe this will preparatory for a rigorous high-school program.
