Terrible school going downhill fast. Do your children a favor and do not send them to this school.

This charter school has no consistency! Big turn over in teachers. I feel like they don't know how to run this school.

"My daughter is in 1st grade this year and started here in Kindergarten. While I found Kindergarten to be a bit ""crazy"" from her prior private pre-k, I still was pleased with the overall school environment. The class sizes are high at up to 22 kids at times, but this year her teacher had a student teacher with her. Now that she is in 1st grade I am much happier, She was placed in a Cambridge classroom so the teacher can progress the class as they are able. She reported that last years class finished math curriculum months early and she was able to progress them into 2nd grade math. I like this flexibility they offer. The teacher has been there for years and is excellent with the class. Also they offer before and after school care, during which time they can work on homework, enjoy the playground, do activities or you can sign them up from a nice list of enrichment programs. I do both, after care and enrichments so she keeps very active and at times would rather be at school than picked up early! that is always a good sign. The kindergarteners and First graders are all on the first floor and the rest of the school is up stairs. This makes the school feel very small and safe for the little ones. They also bring the older kids in to work with the younger ones, which is a great concept in creating a cohesive school. I really like that the school is a ""leader in me"" school. they incorporate this into every aspect of the school, from signs in the cafeteria to the everyday lessons, they are teaching our kids to be leaders. FINALLY! I toured many of the public schools and was not impressed, and was looking for a more global, enriching program than just a one note A-Reader school. I wanted one with foreign language, and culture and teaching about responsibility and arts. This school offers all this plus more. I was lucky to have gotten her a seat here, so if you are too, and are a bit freaked out during the crazy year that is kindergarten, just give it time and you will see your child find his or her place and hopefully excel. If not, don't be afraid to speak with the teachers or principal. They do fundraise like crazy but it is still cheaper than private school and I am happy to help. Good luck in your school search."
