Northwest Catholic High School Ratings & Reviews

Northwest Catholic (NWC) offered an excellent education for me. Having tried public schools 2x growing up...NWC was always a full year ahead of the local high school, Hall High (which, by the way is considered one of the best in the US). Sure I could have stayed in the public school getting straight A's on easy street. But that wasn't what I was there for so I went back to NWC and trudged through their course load. And yes, it was difficult for me. But I was glad then and I m glad now. On top of the educational component I can unequivocally say that the values that they teach to you are impeccable. There is an atmosphere of community that you simply will never get in a public high school. I know this from my own experience and that of having my 4 children in public high schools. The bottom line is at NWC you get personal attention. The administration knows you and cares that you are successful. Trust me NWC does a great job. Believe you me.

I graduated from the school a few years ago and it made a huge difference in my life. I was able to discover explore my talents and skills, which helped me determine the direction I wanted to go in college. I was challenged to learn more and apply what I learned - not just memorize facts and figures - and had the support of my teachers when things were challenging. This school was definitely a great fit for me.

Plain awful. Northwest Catholic fails to provide an education that motivates and pushes the student to achieve more. It has a very limited course selection and the guidance and teacher quality is 20% really good and 80% awful. I feel like I wasted my money and my daughters time by sending her to this school. It looks great from the outside but its education, extra curricular activities and atheletics are terrible. I do not recommend this school for anybody.

Having attended Northwest and graduated in 2009, I have to say that the reviews below are shocking and inaccurate. If your spelling is any indication, you clearly have no idea what a great education is. Northwest has small classes, amazing and engaging teachers, and an atmosphere where you will be thrust into leadership positions purely because of the small size of the student body. It is absolutely true that if a student doesn't put in the effort they won't do well, but generally the fault lies with them instead of the teachers. Like any school, some instructors are less than top-notch. On the whole, however, you will be hard-pressed to find a group of individuals more dedicated to assuring that their students are getting the most out of their education. At what other school can you make a sports team with no experience, practice daily for four years, and become the MVP during your senior season? Where else can you claim to know every student in your class upon graduation? The answer is nowhere. As I sit here at one of the top 35 colleges in the country, I have to say that Northwest prepared me to excel in college and in life, a combination that is far too rare these days.

I would never send another child of mine to this school. My daughter attended this high school and the school just promised a bunch of empty lies. When we met with the school in June to discuss the classes my daughter would be enrolled in, they told her she could take certain classes which never appeared on her schedule when school started. The Guidance Office has no idea what they're doing or what the other teachers are doing and were no help at all. I am very disappointed for sending my child here and I will not make the same mistake again.
