My husband and I are forced to move to a better school district due to the fact our child is always threatened and bullied and staff and administrators looked the other way. The cop within the school( right there I should have taken this as a sign this school is bad if they have two cops in there everyday for protection) told my husband that the thugs within the school can kill her and we can't do anything about it. This school district is so far behind it's not funny. The high school wouldn't help us at all. Instead the principal For grade 9 got into my disabled child's face and started screaming at her. This school needs to be closed so the safety of our children.

#couldvebeenaheartsurgeontoobadiwenttoehhs If you count going to three lunches a day, walking right past the security guards all day and spending the rest of my time in the library or student assistance center as school, then I guess I went to this school.

East Hartford High School is a wonderful, diverse community which gives students a real world experience. 25% of students leave with college credits while many earn nursing certifications or complete internships in local corporations. It is big enough to offer more than 20 AP classes and 25 varsity sports while offering dozens of clubs and activities that allow every student to find a place.

East Hartford High School is an abysmal failure. The 2012 CAPT scores for the 10th grade class revealed: 83% of the students failed to meet the reading standard; 31% below the state average. 84% of the students failed to meet the math standard; 33% below the state average. 83% of the students failed to meet the science standard; 30% below the state average. 67% of the students failed to meet the writing standard; 30% below the state average. I have read reports that the students are disruptive and curse the teachers. This is a failure of the administration (not the teachers) to promote a learning environment. Those students that are disruptive should be removed from the school and their parents should be required to pay for their education at some other learning institution or to home school their children. It is not fair to make the rest of the children suffer life long educational shortcomings due to some students disrupting the education process. Let those that are disruptive suffer the consequences of their actions and spare those that are there to learn and are well behaved.

Pretty good school with a great teaching staff and a host of after-school activities. But many kids are bad mannered and have bad behavior.
