Bristol Eastern High School Ratings & Reviews

I'm a proud alumnus of this school from the class of 2007. Some things just don't come across in the ratings. Talents and diversity were celebrated. Teachers were casual but academically engaging and enthusiastic about their subjects. There was a focus on making us good citizens, as well as good students. Bristol's ground-breaking integration policies meant all kinds of people were loved and accepted. Being unique was an asset--not something you were bullied for. The increasingly interdisciplinary curriculum was designed to make sure we were well-rounded individuals. Everything was innovative, even the Phys. Ed. program, which was focused on life-sports rather than fitness test scores. I learned that I could be good at math. I learned how to write a solid position paper in 20 minutes or less. I learned how to write lab reports that impressed Engineering Physics TAs at UConn. I learned how to write research papers with proper style, grammar, and support. I learned competitive performing arts in their music program and public speaking skills that have helped me present papers at conferences. I learned how to interpret poetry, art, and music. I even learned CAD. It was like living 8 years in 4. If this school is anything like it was in 2007, then I can't recommend it enough.

I am an Alumnus, and I had truly excelled at this school. The teachers are challenging in all the right ways, and provide an ideal learning environment. I am now attending college and I believe that BEHS has done a superb job of preparing me for the collegiate environment. I would highly recommend Bristol Eastern. If I were to suggest any changes, I would ask the school to promote the technology and arts programs a bit more than they already do (although a highly motivated student would find no problem making the most of the existing programs).
