We came to Stevens this year for 1st grade from a private school and we could not be happier ! We love the unity in the teaching staff as well as the leadership team. My daughter is excelling and I can not say enough about her teacher. I love how they sit down with parents (RISE) and teach you how to reinforce learning at home. Excellent ! and the facility is amazing. They offer all of the after school clubs you could want and have Red Rocks as their before & after care. This is an exciting time for this school and we ate fortunate to be apart of it . Go Eagles !

Stevens is known to have many fist to fry: serve the needs of economically, physically, behaviorally & academically challenged students! Yes, this is a very diverse place. We came to Stevens into one of the special programs they provide. We began with a great teacher. Unfortunately, at the end of that school year, every teacher teaching 1-6 grade in that program - 5 to 6 teachers - resigned from their positions at that school (including ours). That should have been a signpost for us! But instead, we re-enrolled. We were so sad to find that the new hire, didn’t have any formal higher education, accredited professional courses or certs in her special teaching area. Troubled by what was not happening for the education of our student, we pursued dialogue with administration, located our district resources for such situations, and also asked questions of the CO dept of Ed. The district opted to hold for status quo and a ‘wait and see’ course of action. As such, we did not remain at this school.-Our experience as parents showed that this admin is adept at building bonds with its faculty, but has difficult in speaking with parents and building *external* academic relationships. -Additionally, they will open cheerleader parents with open arms, but if you are seeking a dialogue that brings pros, as well as, cons to the table, that is a difficult one for them.-Finally, it seemed to us (and not unjustifiably) foremost in their minds, is the economic needs of the child and it can eclipse other needs that a student may bring to the table. We hope the best for Stevens - growth in their professional maturity and more direct, qualified support from the district!

This school has the most dedicated teachers and principals that I have ever met. They truly care about each and every child and follow each child's progress closely to make sure they are improving and reaching goals. I have not witnessed this much attention to detail and effort at any other school.
