This school is great for 80% of kids, if your children fall above or below the average, this school does not meet your needs. We have had two kids go through the school, both of whom were bullied very badly. The staff and principal/assistant principal did not follow up on any of it, and were annoyed at our persistence after our children were assaulted multiple times. Over the last couple of years, the talk around town has even been that parents could tell which kids were from this elementary school versus the other, by watching the children's show of respect. Respect is not a priority at this school. If your child is sensitive about the way they are treated, I would chose another school.

Excellent teachers engage the kids with challenging ideas and concepts. It seems to be a private school education on a public school budget.

Most of my kids' teachers have been great. The problem is the principal and the general feel of the school. It's very cold and authoritative (toward the parents). You get the feeling the teachers aren't allowed to talk too much to the parents; as if they will be in trouble for revealing something they shouldn't. Parents do not feel like part of the educational team. Between the principal and the head secretary, they rule with an iron fist. It's their way or the highway. I also don't like how much emphasis they put on standardized testing. They're definitely "teaching to test" at this school.

The teachers our kids have had at the school have been great; very dedicated to their jobs and their students. The principal however is not good at all. She seems out of her depth and very reactionary, making decisions without rationalization or forethought. I have also rarely seen her attend school events (at least the many I have attended or volunteered to help out with).

We have had great teachers every year. Our son is a good student who looks forward to going to school. We wish the students would be assigned more homework.
