-IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT SENDING YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL READ ALL OF THIS PLEASE-Awful. The decline in the past couple of years has been disgusting. I was a former student, and this school did anything BUT turn me towards christ. While in middle school, me, as well as quite a few others, were experiencing chronic depression due to the ridiculous standards they put us up to. Exceedingly expensive. If anything, I was turned away from God because of their approach on the subject. I was always asked 'what would Jesus do? What would Jesus think if he were watching? Jesus wouldn't do that. You must be evil if you hate yourself, because you're hating someone Jesus loves!' Well I wasn't Jesus, and 13 year old me was sick and tired of everyone expecting me to be. After we were told that Jesus knows everything you have, are, and will do I plummeted into an abyss of existentialism. I didn't think my choices were my own anymore. I felt that I was just another insignificant life to live then die on this rock in space. This school stifles creativity in art class, not allowing anyone to try new things, forcing them to follow the hivemind. There are very distinguishable cliques in this school, and if your child isn't apart of any of them they will be ignored. Dress code is needlessly strict. When people got upset about this change the principal yelled at all of us saying, and I QUOTE, 'Do I need to talk down to you like you're special needs?' Extremely manipulative and low, they use the guise of a Christian School to avoid criticism. Do NOT under any circumstance send your child to this school.

I am a former student of Southeast Christian School and my name is Nico Spagnola. There will undoubtedly be people who say this is a fake review to silence the opinions of those with whom they disagree, but you can ask any of the teachers or staff that were there when I was and they'll be able to confirm that I was indeed a real student. I am extremely disappointed with this school and it's direction in the 2017-2018 year. The principle, on multiple occasions, has shown her true colors. They like to hide behind deceptive barriers and they use the fact that its a Christian school to trick people into thinking their actions are okay, meanwhile perverting the Word of God to suit their decisions and try and force people to do agree with them. Their sort of behavior is what makes people TURN AWAY from God! It's disgusting. One of the best teachers in the middle school kicked out because of the principle's personal bias against her and her teaching style, and then the rest of the staff covered for her like they had no integrity! The rest of the staff, definitely knowing better, continued to defend her actions and decisions and try to justify her awful choices. The only reason the school gets away with stuff like this is because they can say to the parents and students that it's "all for God" and pretend like what they are doing is what God would want, but he is probably scoffing in disappointment at what they are doing with His Word. As Lawrence of Arabia once said, "Man makes plans and God laughs". This is just one example, and you'll probably see more examples mentioned in other reviews. Overall, this is really disappointing for me to say, because this was the best school I've been to... WAS the best. I hope that this school can be turned around, maybe God can influence their leadership, I don't know, but I really WOULD NOT recommend this school if you sending your kid their middle school. Even elementary might not be a good decision, because if you keep sending them there, your kid will get pulled into the mess of middle school too. Without some drastic changes, I don't think the school will be able to thrive more than five years before people realize what is going on. -Nico Spagnola

I was a student from Southeast that went to Southeast since preschool, was held back in 1st grade, and also met his favorite teachers ever. I am Samuel Jensen who graduated from 8th grade this year. This school used to be a great school. From what I saw and experienced from my leadership class is that the Elementary in the 2017 and 2018 year is good but the middle school is mediocre at best. The curriculum was good and the teachers were good as well. But the administrations leading the the school is leading the school in the wrong way. Change is necessary as emphasized by the school, but it is not always for the better. The Headmaster accused the kids that were talking in chapel that they "might not follow God" and even the kids who weren't talking still got accused for not telling other kids to be quiet. They shouldn't have been talking, but that doesn't mean they don't follow God and accusing them of that was extremely rude and un-called for. That was one of the first signs of many that lead me to believe that the future years it was not gonna be a good year. Three of my favorite teachers left the school because it was in the "red" for money. The other was kicked from the school. She has said so herself. And 1 of those two was one out of the 8 that is leaving this year. I do believe that God is leading this school in the direction he wants, but it is not the way the administration is expecting it to. I also believe that he can perform a miracle and change the school from its ways. I think that the changes That will be coming will demolish it as well but only time will tell. -God bless,Samuel Jensen

We love the commitment from the school to provide our children with a strong faith based academic program. We had one child that attended DougCo schools in Parker and Castle Rock. The difference is clear in both the academics and values system within the school. It's wonderful to see teachers that aren't forced to teach common core curriculum. This isn't a Christian school in name only. My kids have a better understanding of scripture than I do. It's a small community and that takes a little getting use to. When you first start here all the students and parents already know each other. That can seem overwhelming, but there are multiple opportunities throughout the year to meet and socialize with everyone. The recently updated on-boarding process for new families makes it easier to get acclimated quickly.
