East Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

I would say that this school is a quiet little gem. It's not a school you hear people discussing publically but this school is just as good as the schools that are considered "best" in this area.

I have never been at a school where the staff cares so much. There is no where else I would send my child.

My two younger siblings attended East when they were little back in 2001. I have a third grade daughter who now attends East and loves it. My husband recently gained custody of his 3 children and they didn't like school but once they started at East they were eager to attend on a daily basis.I love the school and staff at East.

We moved to Littleton from FL in 6/15. We bought a house in the East school zone and because we moved so late in the school year we were unable to open enroll. Besides, we had no idea what the schools were like except for on paper results. We came from a high income upper middle class neighborhood where our kids went to a public elementary school that felt like a little private school. Test scores were high and it was non-diverse. Without many options, we toured East, with the Principal Mrs Card and Dean of students, Ms Vander Velde answering all our questions. We felt their pride and commitment in the school. It was also a reassurance that Ms V's son attended the school at the time. We could have called around to other nearby schools to see if there was space available but this was not necessary as we felt comfortable that this would be a fine choice for our son's 5th grade experience. The school year started off with a camping and bonding experience for all 5th graders which provided our son the opportunity to meet all his new classmates. We felt he was challenged academically and more importantly he enjoyed his time there. We only had one year at East but it was fantastic and made our son's transition to a new school and State so much easier. Don't be fooled. This is a gem of a school in a nice neighborhood full of committed teachers. It's a win-win!

As a parent of three children and with East as our third elementary school, we've experienced several schools from different perspectives for each of our children. Before East, our children attended two of the most highly rated public schools in the state of Colorado. Each school had a Great School rating of 10. While those schools were fine, our best experience by far has been our time at East. We were initially attracted to East because of its' diverse student population. Yet, we found so much more. For the first time, we feel a part of our children's school community. All of the staff know our family by name and the class sizes are small. Everyone - from the TAs and school counselor to the teachers, principal, and speech therapist - is passionate about his or her career and truly eager to make a difference in the lives of children, not only in their academic goals but in their moral characters. Our children are thriving and are challenged academically all year. This is our second year at East. I've open enrolled at each elementary school in which our children have attended and we've finally found our school home. We intend to spend the next seven years with East (our youngest child will enter kindergarten at East next year). Although I'd love to keep East our little secret, I can not help but tell everyone I encounter how impressed we are with the staff and how very proud we are to be "Dragons"!
