We are a first year family at HCA this school year. We are impressed with the whole organization to provide a quality education and support the student for personal growth and development in Christ, in their families, in their friendship circles and athletically. It is a safe environment for our kids to learn and grow! We are so blessed to be part of this community!

"Our oldest has been at HCA since Kindergarten and is now a Senior. Our other children have also attended this school for many years. Being a part of this school is like being part of a large family. We welcome new families with open arms and the kids always seem to fit right in and make friends quickly. Problems are noticed and addressed quickly which is made easier by the size of the school. Accountability is so important in the Christian walk and you will get it in this school! The kids at Heritage have a heart for God and for each other. If kids don't neccessarily ""like"" each other, they genuinely have a Christ-like love for one another and understand that it's okay to not be best friends with someone but as a follower of Christ, they are called to come along side, love and encourage one another. Don't get me wrong, this school is not immune to the things that are so prevalent in public schools but when a student here is confronted with something like that, they feel that it is outside the norm and 9 times out of 10, will resist. In a public school, sin becomes so normal that a student can feel abnormal, left out and ostracized for not giving in. The academics here are extremely challenging however the school's general view of homework is very reasonable than what you see at other similarly academic charter schools in the area. The faculty and athletic coaches genuinely care about the students as well as the families, I could go on and on with examples of this but I will spare you ; ) No, this school doesn't have the most up to date facilities that you will see in larger, funded schools but when there is a need, families and teachers often come together to get it done. To me, this teaches our kids so much. If something needs to be done, we can bond together and do it quickly. We don't just snap our fingers and the government pays for it and it's fixed. I could go on and on, but if you're curious, check it out yourself. I am confident you will feel welcome and loved as soon as you and your child(ren) step through the front door!"

Heritage Christian Academy is more than just a school. Here is where lives are impacted in many ways; to show God's light in these kiddos and this world. The teachers, administrators, staff, students, parents and anyone who doesn't fit in one of those categories are like family to us. I have seen great triumphs and great tragedies befall families of this school and other families come around to support; whatever the needs. My son came to HCA as a 1st grader and now is in 7th grade and I am very happy to say he will graduate from here with life-long friends. My daughter started pre-k and she too will follow her brothers footsteps through HCA. It's not just a school; it's God's love in action. Thank you HCA for all you do!

"As a current student at Heritage, I can not help but speak great things for this school. I began here last year, and everyone greeted me with open arms and hearts, and were so accepting. The previous post mentions several groups that have gone to school with each other since kindergarten, but I do have to disagree with the ""cliquey-ness"" point. Coming from a nearby public school with well distinguished ""in-crowds"", Heritage has zero exclusive circles. Academic wise, I've always been in the top of my class. HCA offers a rigorous college prep curriculum that I've really enjoyed. Most importantly, the presence of God can be felt coming in the front doors, with the bubbly front office staff, and smiling students in the hallways. This is, in my opinion, the greatest school in Fort Collins, and if you want your child to graduate well-educated, with a strong relationship with Christ, Heritage Christian is the place to enroll!!"

I was a student at HCA for a few years in junior high and high school. The teaching staff and administration is wonderful: with small class sizes, they take the time to get to know each and every student. The facility is manageable: with little to no windows, you feel like you walk into an incubator at 8am and then leave back into the world at 3. The curriculum is preparatory: the art of taking notes and learning in a lecture-type classroom setting is similar to what you see in college. The students, however, are my biggest complaint. There is a distinct cleave between those who have been attending since kindergarten (and parents are either teachers or on the school board) and the rest of the student body. At Heritage, social circles are incredibly inclusive. Popularity contests are an issue. My one hesitation in recommending this school would be preparing your child for a school that has just as many -- if not more -- social issues than your typical public school.
