The school is a small, charming, friendly and simply an amazing school. My children are always excited to get up to go to school and be with their classmates and teachers. We had an amazing head of school who really brought St. Marks to the next level in so many ways. The changes he made to the educational programs, the technology programs as well as all the much needed improvements to the school grounds have been amazing. He was a very well educated, motivating, knowledgeable as well as an approachable principal who adored the teachers, students and the parents loved. Seems like the school board pushed our principal away from our lovely school with no input from any of the parents, teachers and staff. It is a real shame to think they brought back a previous head that did not seem to want the position in the past. The overall energy at the school has completely changed and leaves us..the parents wondering about the future of our school. The school that was moving fast in the right direction for the past few years now seems to be at a stand still and most likely going backwards. The staff, teachers and administration are all concerned about their careers and the school they love so much. Hopefully there are some changes in the near future to save our children and our school that we used to love so much. I placed my children in this school for the quality of education, to teach them ethics, values, and to be model citizens in their community. THe difference since school started this year have left me wondering what the future holds. We are seriously considering other options after what we have seen take place since this past summer.

Our family has been at Saint Mark's for 10+ years, starting at the preschool. Over the last 10 years we have seen our children thrive and blossom. Our older child received a solid, well-rounded education at Saint Mark's and is now a Straight-A student at Webb. Saint Mark's has given her a firm foundation not just academically, but also socially and spiritually. She has grown into a confident young lady who enjoys learning and embraces new opportunities. It's also great to see that she still keeps strong ties with her Saint Mark's friends and community. Our younger child is in the middle school and is taking full advantage of the strong curriculum, leadership opportunities, debate, Math Olympiad, fine arts electives, after school sports, and acolyte program. It is such a joy to watch our children grow in confidence, knowledge, and character, in such a nurturing and encouraging environment. As for us parents, we feel so incredibly blessed to be part of our bigger Saint Mark's family -- it truly is a community like no other, bound with compassion and openheartedness. It is a "home" for all of us.

I am writing this review because my daughter came home with a beautiful portfolio from her third grade teacher today. I was truly amazed by the effort and true love for teaching that went into this portfolio. It encapsulated the entire year of learning my child experienced. This is what we have experienced the last 12 years at St. Mark's. It has provided us with a sense of security and community we don't think we could find anywhere else. Our children absolutely thrive at this school and have become very well rounded and well adjusted children with an excellent academic foundation. St. Mark's not only educates our children, but it also instills a sense of self worth and self confidence that children raised in this generation seriously lack. Children prosper in the arts, math olympiad, sports, debate, student council, theater, journalism, public speaking, and yes a moral compas too. Tell me what other school provides children will all of that? Thank you St. Mark's for making my children the best of who they are. - a parent

This is an amazing school and safe, warm inviting environment. All of my children have been at Saint Mark's since preschool and now are in the higher grades. I can not imagine when my last child has graduated and I no longer drive in the parking lot every morning. The changes that have taken place in the last few years to bring the school into the 21st century have been modeled by many other schools because of the direction education is going. They probably needed to be done years ago. There have been a few hiccups but that definitely comes with change and that happens in every industry. The children are getting a top notch education but are becoming outstanding members of their communities. My children love their school, their teachers and the administration team. They would rather be at school then their home. I know my children have received the best education while at Saint Mark's and will be accepted to the college of their choice(Ivy League) I am sure. They have been taught excellent values, problem solving, to be charitable, to get along and to think outside the box. The genuine love for their friends, classmates, teachers as well as the younger children brings joy to my heart. I know my children now have strong work ethics and have a sturdy foundation to grow into smart young adults...and for that I am forever grateful to Saint Mark's. I know the school comes with a price but I feel the money was so well spent on my most cherished treasures. Thank you Saint Mark's for molding my kids into amazing little people.

"My heart breaks hearing your sediments about Saint Mark's. It is my hope that time heals and when you look back at your experience you can find and focus on the all the good things that your family experienced. Although, I know that there is no perfect school, no perfect teacher, and no perfect administrator I do the best with the talents that I have been given. The changes you have mentioned are, at their core, a by product of a school reaching it's 35th year mark, (over a half century for the preschool). Change is hard, however, I am confident that the changes that are occurring will allow Saint Mark's to be around well after I am gone. Know that my office will always be open if you would like discuss your feelings further."
