We enrolled our kid in this school because of the TWBI program. Even though the academic part is decent enough so far, the bullying issues are incredible. My kid is in K and every 2-3 days we have issues that someone hits him, call him names, push him to the floor, etc.I've been reporting this to the teacher for the last month but until now, nothing has changed.I'm deeply disappointed and I regret to have enrolled my kid in this school.

We moved into this neighborhood and chose this school based on good reviews, solid test scores and due to the fact that affluent areas generally have better schools – but I made a terrible decision to send my kids to Willow Glen Elementary. Willow Glen Elementary is easily the most disorganized and chaotic of the three elementary schools that my children have attended. There are children with severe behavioral issues who are unsupported in the classroom - kindergartners punching other children in the face, or dragging another child across the floor by the ankle, are two examples that occurred in the first 2 weeks of class. The administration does NOT support teachers here, and told me that these examples of violence were acceptable as they were “down” to happening only once per week by January. My child was frightened to attend school and had nightmares about being attacked by other children. Kindergarteners should not hate going to school. On the other side, my older child had a new teacher who had no mentoring – poor classroom management, students not engaged or held accountable for participating in classwork, very poor parent communication and again, no support from the administration. We lasted 4 months at this school before pulling our kids, and we personally know 4 other families who left before us. The linchpin of a successful school is an effective, organized principal who is able to build community among teachers and parents, and in this respect Willow Glen Elementary is a failure.

Great school in every way. Diverse student body and kids learn both academics and grow up with what is normal in society. I have 3 kids that have gone here and all have learned a lot. We were in Palo Alto before and the academics are good but the kids whose parents have taught them they are better than others make it a terrible school system. Also once they get to middle school there is nobody held accountable and with those kids with lots of money drug usage is rampant.

The worst I have ever seen. The principal is unattached, uncommunicative, and generally incompetent. There is a bullying issue and the principal is completely incompetent. He is also completely incompetent in education and management. MUST BE FIRED! Anyone on the school board that supports this level of incompetence must also be immediately fired!

My daughter started in here with TK. Her teacher was amazing. We described her as when she opens her mouth hearts come out. She was the sweetest dearest teacher a parent could ask for their nearly 5 year old to spend the day with. This year we started Kindergarten in the Spanish TWBI program they have as an option here and we are delighted with her teacher this year too! My daughter has only positive thoughts about going to school and each day is "the best day ever!" We couldn't be any happier!
