Price Charter Middle School Ratings & Reviews

My student came into the district strong in all academic areas. After 2 years (5th and 6th grade), his grades are down overall and his end-of-year scores are trending down. There is no support from the school (homework club/assistance was cancelled due to budget). Top teachers have left or are leaving. Many families are sending their students to tutors for help. I regret sending my student here.

We moved our daughter from Valley Christian after being there since Kindergarten. She has flourished here at Price! The faculty and students there are welcoming and the social environment is a lot less stressful for her. She has created some long standing friendships and enjoys going to school a lot more. We are so glad we made the move.

I attended Price when it was a junior high, taught there, and now my son attends. While there are some nice teachers/staff, I absolutely loathe this school and regret allowing my son to attend. I do not now nor have I ever felt a part of this "community"--even though I was born and raised here. The curriculum is fine, but the school has always lacked warmth and inclusion.

Dont CARE for this school and I hate to feel sucha way and hate to state such however I just feel a slight form of discrimination at this school. My child is a smart kid whose becoming a teenager and gets distracted at times. However, he gets no form of recognition here at all. Everything he attempts to participate in, is shot down, made ineligible & disqualified which comes off as being discriminitive simply because there are very little African American children at this school & so much for judging a book by its cover being if my child probably appeared to show more features of his caucasion side i doubt he'd experience being felt as though he just isnt good enough because of the way he feels being a student here. And this happens to be the first time he's attended a school that only makes not only himself but myself as well, but gives us the impression that he just isnt good enough but luckily I was raised to know what good is & not only is my child good but he's above average & we have results to back that up, but this is his last year of middle school and I will make sure his highschool years will give an even higher result in backing that up.Also one of the teachers last year told my son that "you Black students always come in my class & think you do not have to do anything" which I feel is highly offensive and very discriminative being my son wasnt even given a chance to show his performance and prove her overall thought as being WRONG!!!

My first child attends Ida Price, i'm glad that the teachers are strict with their words. This happens to students that have no respect for the classroom other students or most importantly themselves. Some teachers use shame to make a lesson out of the nicest sweetest students. I think over the years of being in tenure these teachers find out that this may be the best method for teaching. Unfortunately times have changed and there are better methods for teaching to gear towards the future. The classroom setting is like the class room settings 50 years ago, there should be more open forums and grouping of all kinds of students to achieve a certain goal. Fortunately we have great electives and I would guess that's where the fun of the corporate world integration comes in. Teamwork to achieve a certain task like Computer/Science Projects. The only thing I can say is we can't blame the teachers or the school as much as ourselves. At the end, we must be held accountable and responsible as parents for our kids and our future.
