"Our daughter spent eight years in public school. She was accepted to Lowell in ninth grade but chose SFWHS and has not looked back. When I asked her what she feels is the biggest difference between her experience at public school and her experience at SFWHS she said ""At Waldorf I retain what I learn"". She has rediscovered the joy of learning and the teachers and staff are there to support her in every step of her journey. We feel very fortunate to have found this amazing school and community."

I have three children, one SFWHS alumni already in college, a high schooler and a grade schooler. They are all very different in personality and learning style, and the curriculum and teachers at SFWS have been outstanding at addressing them individually and bringing forth their innate love of learning. I can confidently say that all of my children love school, love learning and are thriving because of the well-rounded and thoughtful education they are receiving. My eldest graduated last year and is in her freshman year at college. She is very well prepared for life out in the world and has expressed deep gratitude for her teachers from SFWHS in preparing her so well for college academics, in addition to all the general life skills she received throughout her education. I highly recommend the San Francisco Waldorf High School.

My children both started at Waldorf Grade School in the 5th grade. They were immediately welcomed by both teachers and students and made to feel at home. I have been completely won over by the incredible dedication of the teachers, the enthusiasm of the students and the entire school community. My oldest now attends the high school in West Portal -- a beautiful building with a tremendous green landscape out the back windows. The education is rigorous, with extremely tough classes in honors math up through calculus, demanding humanities and strong language offerings. I really appreciate that art, music, dance and performance are integrated directly into the curriculum without any loss of academic rigor. I also appreciate the vitality of the sports programs. It is a smaller school, but the varsity teams are competitive in their division and school spirit is high! I would highly recommend that parents looking for a high school that combines strong academics, arts, sports and a philosophy that teaches the whole child check out Waldorf High School!

SF Waldorf HS has been wonderful for my daughter. The courses are demanding, yet the integration of art throughout all subjects has allowed her to express what she has learned in thoughtful ways. The entire staff has helped to bolster her self confidence academically and personally. I couldn't have found a better fit for her.

My child, who is now thriving with straight A's at another high school, with several academic and athletic awards, was villainized and ostracized at Waldorf High School. If your child is not excessively obedient and conformist, this may not be the school for your family. Be forewarned, that the contract every family is required to sign agrees to pay tuition for the full year plus attorney fees even if your child is driven out early in the school year. Their attorney has demanded that we pay full tuition for the full year, including attorney fees to sue our family, without our child even being there three months before being forced to leave. Now that our child is thriving academically and socially, we realize that Waldorf High School was the problem not our child.
