There's nothing "proggressive" about this school because how they operate and their mission is what I would hope all schools were like. The head of the school is gracious, polite, professional, and visionary. The curriculum is challenging but not over the top. They spend enough time on each area instead of rushing. The co curriculars like music and art and Spanish keep kids engaged so they like school. Most importantly the teachers and staff treat the students like little adults with respect. Students also get a lot of attention with two teachers per class. If you can afford this school, the investment is worth it.

We LOVE Westerly! We have been there for 6 years and have two children attending. The teachers and staff are amazing and really care about the students and take the time to really get to know them. The extra curricular classes are wonderful and my children learn something new everyday. PE, music, theater, Spanish, and art--what more could we ask for?

This school is nothing short of amazing. My wife and I toured this school and were immediately struck by how engaged the students were. Westerly uses a very strong community approach to pull the best out of each individual student. The kids are challenged with strong academic, music, art, and Spanish, but are also supported by their peers as well as the faculty and administration. The younger students are even mentored by the older students. We couldn't be happier with how far our daughter has come just in Kindergarten. Westerly has an exceptional amount of parental involvement. Parents are involved in many volunteer opportunities and community events allowing the students to form stronger bonds with each other and with other families.

Our family has two children at Westerly. The attention to each child and their individual learning style is one of the top qualities we love about the school. The academics are tailored to each child allowing them to advance beyond the standard curriculum. The extracurricular programs including, Music, Art, Spanish and PE are an added bonus to this already wonderful school.

This is our 9th year at Westerly. We have an 8th grader and a 5th grader. We have been so happy with their education and Westerly's approach to the whole child. Our children love to go to school each day, and that simple fact is amazing and every parent's dream. A few things that stand out in our opinion...the school's mentorship program. The school pairs up older/younger students and it fosters an incredible relationship...and as the mentees grow and become mentors, it is so heartwarming to see them take their job seriously. The school is small, which allows for everyone to know each other. Their sports program is growing (with championships in Football, Volleyball and Basketball). The extras make the school: not just art, music, PE and Spanish. But things like school dances, movie-nights, middle school "lock-in" where the entire middle school camps out on the field overnight, and team building trips. So many schools have had to cut all the fun out of being a kid...and yes you are paying for it, but it exists! Of course it is an investment, but we believe our kids are a very worthy investment.
