There is too much emphasis on being cool over academics, and the administration is largely dependent on parents. I know this is everywhere these days but it is particularly pronounced here.

Kindergarten is over crowded (1:26) and there are NO full-time Paraeducators in the classes to help the teachers. So if your child struggles in any area, this will not be the right school for you. Plan on teaching them at home because they will NOT get the extra attention or time they might require...the schools solution if your child is falling behind in any given area is to retain them. Teachers want to help but their hands are tied. They just don't have the time with 26 children. The school heavily relies on parent volunteers. Security is extremely poor and the principals reaction when I questioned it was "we are up a hill on a private street and nothing has ever happened yet." Not acceptable!!Overall, I'm not a fan of this school at all.

All schools are largely dependent on the staff and the curriculum. The curriculum is ok. With common core, the teachers weren't adequately prepared (not that they were in other schools either). There is no typing program, so my daughter graduated and didn't know the 10 key touch. The teachers are hit or miss. Some are clearly tenured and are only there before they can't be fired, even though they absolutely should be. The principal's solution is to shuffle them around between different grade levels. If you have a child that is slightly "outside the box" i suggest to find a different school.

Wonderful school with great staff. The parents are very supportive. Overall, a great school in a great area.

We've had our second grader in this school since kindergarten, and couldn't be happier. We've been very happy with the teachers, the facilities and the school grounds. They recently upgraded the kindergarten playground and it's fantastic. Parents are very involved and supportive of the school, both volunteering and donations.
