The school itself is beautiful and the teachers are great. Tuition is steep but it's worth it for the treatment they get. I would say the only downside is the parents and the environment they create. There are a lot of parents that come from rich parents and so there's definitely an environment of that. Coming from a humble family it can be intimating for the children and for the parents definitely a turn off. Rich parents will overly dress up for the school events and bring their designer outfits, they will do parties in their homes but interestingly enough only order pizza lol. They seem to want to show off their properties but not spend enough money to feed the children properly.

We have been happily surprised and pleased by our daughter's experience at SHP Atherton freshman year. She has made friends, participated in a varsity sport, and has taken health and wellness which has prepared her for her future years. Her friends are top notch, kind and considerate. The boys have been respectful. She worked hard in academics and learned a lot, especially in English and History. Overall we are thrilled with her happy freshman year. She is happy, healthy, confident and curious about the world. Sacred Heart has nurtured our daughter with care and love and for that we are grateful.

Overall, this school values excellence and has some great teachers. Athletics are very strong here, and the school has a great reputation. However, if you are looking for a band or choir program, both of those teachers are pretty terrible. Both programs hired new teachers this year, and unfortunately they are staying. The Band teacher clearly has never taught before. The Choir teacher seems to care much more about her own needs than she does the students. It is very disappointing because one would think that a school with the resources that they have would hire better teachers. Also, if the teachers turn out not to be a good fit, it seems like the school would find someone else. If you have a singer or instrumentalist it is probably best to look elsewhere.

campus is beautiful. Administrators are efficient. But teachers are very strict and in my humble opinion uptight. The teachers remind me of those from stereo type catholic school. We didn't want our kids to be disciplined so early (1st grade), so this is not a fit for us. but others may find the structure appealing.

We were new to the Prep last year and it was a great fit for our family. Yes, a significant portion of the population is affluent and some may find that uncomfortable. And sure, there are parts that may not work for everyone - true for every school. However, our child's classes and teachers were all outstanding! Thoughtful curriculum, care and a great deal of effort was shown consistently throughout the year. The opportunities to dig in to the community (for both students and parents) are bountiful and all one has to do is leap to find a fit. We feel very grateful to be a part of the SHS community and would recommend it, without hesitation, to anyone.
