Both children attended TIA. One from K-2 and another for K. While the school initially was a great school, with an attentive and caring staff it is far from that now. There is a lot of uncertainty with the teachers, some leaving mid year or subs until a permanent one can be found. Once I found our pay in relation to other places I can see why!) There is a great focus on the children who are not succeeding and the children who need less monitoring will be ignored. We did pull our children from this school because of a number of reasons. The principal is never available. We left message and walked in a few times to speak to her about several pressing matters, and she was never available nor did she return phone calls. The few little kids in the office who heard us ask for her giggled and said all the students know she likes to hide. True? I cannot say its not since she never once reached out after our several attempts. The school claims it is a multi cultural school. While the children learned Chinese, there is a greater emphasis in Spanish with most of the after school performances focusing on this as well. If this is a "multi" cultural school more than two cultures should be explored. When at an after school performance, there is no consistency. Parents openly take phone calls, talk at full voice, and think it is a social hour versus observing what their children have practiced and learned. Faculty will not step in and ask for the parents to behave or quiet down. (As a result I have seen children cry from the rudeness and inept behaviors.) Don't even get me started on the drop-off and pick up area. If you are a favored parent, you can cut the waiting line of cars and cut everyone off to get your child. There is no one to really monitor this, or even look out for the safety of the children in the area as cars speed through the alley like its I-10. We finally pulled our children after these situations progressively got worse. We enrolled them at a school rated an 8 on here and are extremely pleased with the quality of their education now. Just for fun, you should look up TIA Midvale on the Dept of Education Ratings. They are critically failing now, so much so, that they are a separate entity from the other TIA campus'.

My children go to this school and I couldn't be more happier with the education, staff and atmosphere all around. Everyone treats each other as family and they are extremely welcoming. There are never any problems with kids having trouble getting along with each other. I am grateful for finding this school and couldn't imagine having to switch my kids out. The staff is always there to help with anything that I or my children may need.
