They following is my experience as a student at Legacy Traditional School in Northwest Tucson, of you plan to send your kid here, read this. I attended this school from 5th-8th grade and my perspective is that of a kid who never got a B in my career at Legacy, also incorporating the perspectives of my peers that surrounded me through my Legacy journey. I will mostly focus on middle school, as that affects me most now as a high school student. I will talk about the two most interesting classes at legacy because the rest are simply average. In my experience attending this school, I was mostly prepared for high school in all areas except one, math. Legacy's math program is the one thing that sinks its former students. The numbers above, which lead one to the conclusion that they have an above average program, are HIGHLY inflated. In reality, kids coming out of 6th grade making the transition to seventh and eighth grade don't know what they have coming. If they did below average in 6th grade math, they should do a little better in Pre-Algebra aka Course 3. But Algebra, oh boy, get ready for a failing grade if you are not talented in math. Then on standardized tests having to do with algebra, most students don't have any clue what to do on many problems, which leads to abysmal test scores. Before you assume that Legacy's Algebra program is made only for the best students, just know that unless they fail Course 3 in 7th grade, they will take algebra no matter what. In fact, about 80% of students will take this course no matter what. If they do pass Algebra 1, they will then have to take a challenge test to skip it in high school, which they will definitely not do too well on. Even I had to retake half of Algebra and I finished my 8th grade year with a 98% in that class and was accepted to my high school as part of the top 1% of students in my graduating class to take the entrance exam. And if you are thinking math will scare your child, be prepared for English. If your kid attended Legacy since they were in elementary school, they will have a very tough time with 7th grade English. Get ready because that first semester is brutal, and failing that class in not uncommon, as it is very hard for incoming 7th graders. However, it greatly prepares you for high school and if you stick with it and do well, you are bound to do well in AP courses in high school.

Preparing for our 5th year and switching our child in Kindergarten was the best move we could have made.

I can't say enough good things about the school ! It has been such a blessing in our families life ! From the principal to the monitors. Each and everyone make the school a difference. My son has been here for two years and is currently in Miss Konski's class . She is THE BEST teacher, couldn't have been blessed with a better one ! My son has attended many schools since he started in preschool, we moved to Colorado for the schools however came back to Arizona and thankfully found Legacy . The principal goes out of her way to help in anything you need she is right on point! She knows every student by name , is seen on campus being involved every single day ! I choose Legacy over any other school (including private) and you should too! It's one of the best choices I've every made for my son as a mom ! It's a Great feeling to know that if I need absolutely anything I always have the support of any Legacy "family"team !! Thank you Legacy for being such a BLESSING!!!

My son came to Legacy in the 7th grade from and under achieving school. I appreciate that Legacy sets the bar higher and does not accept mediocre work from a child that has more potential.

As stated in several other comments the teachers at this school are wonderful. The Administration is atrocious. I also have a child with an IEP. I have been approached several times by staff recommending to retain my child. I had to push to have my child evaluated and tested. My child does not fit the "profile" of students the school is seeking. I brought my concerns to the Administration it was the worst encounter I have ever had with a school. The principal did not care to hear my concerns. She was very defensive, rude, and took no interest in my concerns. No accountability or resolution was offered going forward. Legacy has the appearance of a wonderful environment it is a facade.
