ACPA is an excellent school with compassionate and dedicated teachers who do their best to ensure each individual student's needs are met. The environment is friendly and productive. All staff do an excellent job of maintaining a safe, open, and constructive place for students to learn.

ACPA is a challenging place, there's no denying that. Through the challenges I made some amazing, life-long friends there. ACPA challenged me, not only to undertake rigorous acedemic feats, but aslo to evaluate myself as a friend, learner, teacher, believer, and many other facets of human life. And through that evaluation asked me whether or not I liked who I was or if I wanted to change, to be better. ACPA allowed me to choose to be different and to try to be better. I never want to stop growing or dreaming or creating or becoming because of the values that I learned and created at ACPA. There was some resistance to being asked to change but, I was never forced to be somebody I didn't want to be. ACPA affords students opportunities that they won't get at other public schools. I am thankful for a group of teachers that reach out to every student, in as many ways they possibly can. I didn't just learn to be a better student there, I learned to be a better human there. ACPA is a tremendous growth opportunity for the few that attend. Dreams happen there. Life happens there. I am so glad that I was able to do life at ACPA. Now for life elsewhere.

When I first went into this school, I had worries about the generic things you hear about high school, how there's bullies and they'll stuff you in trash cans and stuff. I'm a senior now, and I thankfully didn't have to deal with any bullies doing anything like that. This school changed my life, though. I had a pretty simple view on school before, that it's a place where you learn about math, science, language, history, and other subjects like that. The school promotes you to better yourself and actually do something with the knowledge you get. I used to learn about things by memorizing the dates, the numbers, the places, and other very information heavy things. While that's still a part of the school, the emphasis is on what you do with that information. How you work with it, how you use it, and how you show you know it. As for negatives, some could call the liberal attitude the school has as a negative. Racism, sexism, homophobia, discrimination against religion, or anything alike is not tolerated at all. I find this as a huge positive, though. I'd suggest this school to anyone. If you're worried about you/your kid's education, just go to ACPA. It'll work fantastically.

This school was able to give me the freedom of mind and the freedom of heart. While attending ACPA I was able to transform from my angry, frantic, scattered freshman self to the Student Council President my senior year. It took a lot of hard work and my teachers were able to help me out through the whole process. Something amazing about this school is the fact that the teachers are attentive to the needs of the student and meet the needs of the student. Which is helpful and beneficial to our students. I especially love Mr.Brower, who has helped me find the inner artist in me. Mr.Brower made sure that I could freely express myself. He also encouraged me to turn in my work and to become a better student. Through Mr.Brower's tutelage I was able to improve and more fully evolve into reaching my full potential. Mr and Mrs.Mendoza also helped me find my voice. Mr.Mendoza supplied the counter arguments to every argument that I made in order to let me think more thoroughly about my actions and thoughts. While, Mrs.Mendoza helped me in a kind and gentle way to become stronger and let me be myself. All in all, this school is great!

As a grandparent and community member, I appreciate the dedication of the staff and all of the opportunities they provide on a daily basis to help each student progress and succeed. Students are challenged to think critically and search for their own voice. That is very important in this day and age when it is so easy for teenagers to be influenced by pop culture and the media. I support their efforts and feel strongly that their level of achievement, community partnerships and graduation rate speak to their reputation and continuing success.
