If you are looking for a school that will produce a well rounded student, this is the school for you. The class sizes are small which ensures that each student gets one on one attention. The education is fabulous. Our daughter has attended Rancho for 5 years and is now in 4th grade. She has many friends from other charter, private and public schools. We r very pleased with the education she has received at Rancho compared to her friends. There are wonderful families at Rancho and wonderful kids. Every staff member knows my child by name. We are very happy at this school.

We have been a Rancho family for over 10 years. We started when my son was 3 y.o. The curriculum has always been at least a year ahead, if not more, compared with local public schools. Class size is often 10 children/ class room. The individual attention each student receives is incredible. Every teacher and staff member, knows who my children are and where they should be. Furthermore, the teachers knowledge of our children's strengths and weaknesses is unparalleled. The nurturing environment is why my children feel so safe and content at this school. We feel very lucky to be able to be party of this community

This school sadly does not live up to its billing. I agree with others that it is not very academic. My niece who attends the public school in the same grade gets more challenging homework. There is nearly no development of critical thinking. Some of the teachers are phenomenal. However, in core topics there is really no advantage to public school in the same district. There is also less attention to social development.

We are so glad our time at this “school” is coming at an end. For a school that purports to be academic, the curriculum is very disappointing. Most topics taught were things my child had seen 2 grades previously, all the mumbo jumbo of teaching “1 grade level ahead” notwithstanding. While most of the teachers are sweet, the approach to education is completely wrong headed. Classroom instruction relies heavily on drills and worksheets that are so mind-numbingly boring that your child’s natural love of learning will not survive beyond a semester. The administration has no interest in supporting differentiation. I’m fact, consider yourself enormously lucky if they respond to your calls or emails. There is clearly not much attention paid to developing social skills. As a result, bullying and drama are the norm. This is not so much a school as a psychopath factory, considering how finely attuned their approach to education is to reward maladjusted behaviour. These are not the skills that will allow individuals to flourish in today’s workplace. It would be funny if the joke weren’t on you for paying that ridiculous tuition. This year has been a complete waste and we’re so glad it is almost all over!

They have a strong language arts program but that is about it. They didn't have an actual math curriculum and because of this we needed to remediate our basic math skills. For the price of the tuition I don't feel you are getting an education that is any better than a good charter school like Basis or Great Hearts.
