Our son has grown tremendously academically, socially & behaviorally at Lexis. The staff are highly skilled and truly caring. He loves this school and has made close friends. Before, he was in a comprehensive gifted program at a public school which was very good academically and he excelled in all subjects. His challenge isn't academics. As a 2E child, he needs social skills learning, executive functioning and ADHD intervention. His previous school was not able to provide that. Lexis absolutely meets and exceeds his academic needs (he loves learning at Lexis and is challenged) but for him, more importantly, from the moment he walks in the door the staff know what his individual learning need is so they skillfully apply social/emotional intelligence learning skills with him. His communication and ability to self advocate now astound me. I am learning from him! These are skills, quite frankly, that everyone including "neuro-typical" children and adults, need to be successful in this world. His "disability" now has him at an advantage because of what he is learning during this important foundational time in his life. I am incredibly grateful to have his gem in our lives. We LOVE Lexis.

This school had many promises and almost no follow through. The head of the school is mediocre with middle school and lower but should nevet have touched high school, she is not adept to deal with high school issues. During lunch for the lower grader they would be in next to high school and when we complained we were yelled at because it was there lunch... During our class time. High schoolers were caught vaping, what they were vaping contained nicotine, they did so where young kids could come in and inhaled what they were smoking and couldve found the electronic cigarette. The consequence was a two day in school suspension for two of the boys and two day at home suspension for the third. The high school was isolated for the school as a hole but then when they(being the administration and teachers) wanted free labor we would be lecture and scolded when we didnt want to help. Overall the class as a collective felt like we were kindergardeners. We had no say in our academic choices. And the head of the school, mind you this school is for kid with learning disabilities, said me fiddling with something during her lecture was distracting her. As a student with ADHD this was an absurd request. Their idea of "full body listening" is unethical for this type of student. If you have a high school student look else where

We finally found a place that our sons fit into perfectly! The teachers, the staff, the Administration...they just 'get it'. We are so grateful that we found Lexis Prep!! Our sons lives are now going to be richer, and full of potential - and we owe it all to our School!

What a perfect fit for our son. Our son had struggled for years in a public school setting, even getting support for areas he was having difficulty with. We had a a great relationship with his previous school, but nothing compares with Lexis. Their ability to adapt to the specific needs of each student is phenomenal. Customizing the learning experience while keeping it challenging and compassionate is something we could find no where else. The kids all seem to understand each other and care for each other - this is truly a special place for kids that just learn differently.

I cannot say enough good things about this school. My son was in preschool at a highly rated charter school. He is very bright and loves to learn. Shortly after school began, however, he began to change. He would say things like, "No one likes me. The kids call me weird. My teachers don't like me." He also began to get sent to the office, for things like getting up and running around, singing while he worked, and similar behaviors. We went to a child psychologist and on her recommendation, I had my son evaluated for ADHD. After testing and classroom observation, the diagnosis was confirmed. We attempted to work out a plan with his existing school, but they were completely uncooperative. Enter Lexis Prep. After doing a shadow day, we enrolled my son. The first few weeks were a transition - he was fearful after enduring teasing and poor treatment at his old school.. But now, a few months later, he has blossomed. He loves school again! Everyone from the front office staff, to the teachers, to the students have been wonderfully supportive. Those who know us have all commented on the positive changes in my son. We love Lexis, and I'm so grateful that this school exists.
