Laguna Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

Laguna is an amazing school. The teachers love to teach and the classroom size is nice and small. My daughter has 22 kids in her class this year and last year.

poor. My son and daughter have been here for 2 years but we will be transferring to a charter school after the Holiday break.

It has been good. With the exception of two underwhelming instructors, the teachers have been compassionate, prepared and are interested in furthering the progress of the children. All of the classrooms are full of educational material, the campus is clean/light, fun and promotes respect and caring at nearly every corner. Fundraisers are effective and the parents are very much involved but not in a nosy way. Feels less public and leans slightly towards a private experience, but not definitely not private. The students also seem to score well versus the neighboring school and much better than the state. Where this schools really lacks in our experience is providing more dynamic, variable teaching....ie, our kids never had an academic plan and report cards would have little to almost no information beyond numbers and have a good summer. This is where a lot of public schools die in my opinion. Everyone moves forward with the pace changing slightly for math and reading to allow some targeting instruction/learning. Private schools seem more focused on creating and updating child's academic plan, challenging them beyond their existing track and put character development into play a lot better. For the money Laguna is great (lol its free).

Overall, we have been very happy with our experience at Laguna. My daughter has been very happy here the last 4 years. She has loved her teachers and she is learning. The school has a strong PTO and the parents are involved in their children's life and school.

I would recommend this school to anyone who has a child with a disability and who is receiving Special Education. Mrs. Williams she is very knowledgeable with special needs and ensures that they are placed into an appropriate IEP. Highly Recommended. :-)
