Cheyenne is a great school. You must be ready to be challenged if you go here though. Top school in SUSD. Students thrive in high school.

We LOVE Cheyenne! It has made a world of difference in my kids. My children went to another SUSD school that is highly rated and my daughter did not do well there...at all. So, after 4th grade at that school, we made the switch to Cheyenne and I only wish I would have started her out there in Kindergarten. She is completely night and day from how she was at the other school where she slipped through the cracks and fell so far behind. She needed more structure, but I did not think we wanted the kind of structure Great Hearts offers, so Cheyenne was the PERFECT fit. The teachers are amazing and we could not be happier with our choice. Happy to report that my daughter is in 6th grade and made not only the Honor Roll, but the President's List. My son is in 2nd grade and has a perfect report card as well. Thank you, Cheyenne Staff! :)

If your child fits the traditional school mold and you are involved, they will succeed here. Not every child thrives in this type of environment and it can take a few years to figure that out. If your child is an outside-the-box thinker, creative, has ADHD... they will suffer. It's very strict, it requires a lot of attention and self-discipline. Admin is excellent here, teachers were not thoroughly impressive. My child was here for four years. Community is good, but if your child is any of the above, really watch the video on the CTS website and learn exactly what you're getting in to. It's not an average "normal" school. Really understand their math curriculum as well (Saxon). Gifted program is weak, it doesn't start until 3rd grade and there's only 1 gifted teacher for the entire school. No STEM programs. The only creative outlet is music and art class.

Every school in Arizona struggles with the miserly funding provided by the State. But this School does a great job of educating Scottsdale kids at a high level despite being starved for funds.Teachers are uniformly committed and for the most part very experienced. Class sizes are larger than the rest of the District because there is so much demand from parents to get this school. The discipline required to complete daily homework differs from other schools. But that difference is part of why many parents seek this school for their children. We want that discipline. We believe in homework as part of the learning of life skills needed at the next levels.

My son transferred in to this school after we relocated here. WORST DECISION EVER!Not only is this school about two years behind in their curriculum, the teachers rarely address your concerns, and are more consumed with form rather than correct answers. Also, the teachers are unprepared in their teaching format, the children feel rushed, do not know/understand/unclear about the homework, (of which they will have 5-6hrs PER NIGHT).I would not recommend this school.
