Anyone who says this school is anything less than extraordinary is extremely mistaken. This school is the best in this town and the surrounding areas. I would not send my child anywhere else. Here the students are treated like people, not just sheep to be herded from subject to subject. Each child matters, and they deal with problems among students in an effective way that helps both students.

I was looking back on all the adventures our son had at his 4 yrs. at Northpoint and thinking, Northpoint builds character in our children! Northpoint gave our son the most precious gifts in teaching him how to walk through his fears, face challenges, solve problems, and the courage and confidence to believe in himself and do whatever needs to be done! To lead or to work together on a team, our son is thriving in college and has mastered important life skills that will take him wherever he chooses to go in life. Thank you Northpoint! Our boy is now a man with a strong character, integrity, love and compassion! Engineering is his field, contributing to "commuinty" is his mission and adventure is his passion! With Appreciation and Gratitude,Kerry Hettleman

I attended the school about 3 years ago. I graduated and am now in college. Despite the fact that Northpoint tries to convince people that it prepares children for college, it does no such thing. The math classes are behind, so when I went to college, I was getting C's in math classes, while at Northpoint I was getting A's. There aren't really any extracurricular activities to speak of, and there aren't diverse choices in foreign language. I'm not sure how anyone could flunk out of this school because its curriculum was a joke. I regret the decision of attending this high school and I KNOW I would have been more prepared for college if I had attended Prescott High School instead. Don't let this place's phony advertising fool you, Northpoint will not help you get into a college that isn't a state or community college. If you do happen to travel outside of Arizona, you will certainly be behind in any college curriculum, especially in math. Northpoint called itself a "college prep school," but none of the skills I learned there are applicable now. embarrassing that I am associated with this institution.

When we moved here our child attended Northpoint for one semester. We felt the academics were very lacking (especially in core subjects), and my daughter felt she did not learn anything. She a hard time catching back up academically when she transferred, due to learning so little during the time she was at Northpoint, particularly in math. Northpoint is open and accepting as long as you agree with their viewpoint. If you child needs an alternative environment, this might be the place, and that seems to be the type of student Northpoint is trying to attract. If you want an academically challenging environment to prepare your child for the future, this is probably not the place. I liked several of the teachers a lot. I did not like the principal at all. I still believe that expeditionary learning is a neat idea, and could be a wonderful method of learning.

My daughter has attended NELA for 2 1/2 years now and I have seen her mature into not only a responsible young lady but one who is very self disciplined and interested in learning and her community/ and even world events. I believe NELA has fostered all that in her through their unique teaching methods, their encouragement for her to put forth only her best. There is a great student/teacher ratio and she always feels like she has someone to turn to for academic and even personal support. She not only looks forward to their national and international expeditions she comes back a changed person, more confident with herself and more comfortable with those around her. This school does require that each student apply themselves and be responsible productive community members of the school, and if they do- the payoff is fantastic!
