We left here in 2017 before it completely fell apart. Spare yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. I understand that the Bishop does not want to micro manage, but even the Pope steps in when the ship is sinking.

We had children at this school for many , many years but choose to leave. There has been massive teacher turnover. More than 12 teachers Quit or were fired when the new Principal started a few years ago. She runs the school like a dictator and will expel any family or teacher that dares to suggest there are problems. We found a near by school and our A+ student at Saint John Bosco needed to seek a tutor to keep up academically at the new school. This used to be a great school but I would look for another school if you are considering Saint John Bosco.

This is a school that has been and will continue to be ignored by the diocese. My opinion is that it was far more effective as an interparish school, where there was input from the other catholic communities it served. St. Benedict has proven to be ill equipped for the task of administering this school. The mass exodus of instructors and staff has crippled this school beyond any measure, and the administration continues to minimize it as necessary to get the school back on track. To effectively get the school back on track by cleaning house proves the myopic mindset. Don't believe all the propaganda. Some of these teachers are working at other catholic schools in the diocese of Phoenix, completely diminishing the false narrative from Bosco's administration that the teachers were the problem. The problem lies with the Parish of St. Benedict. Shuttering this school and trying again under the leadership of any other area parish would most probably make the substantial changes needed to bring families back into catholic education. Having a priest at the helm with a strong education background, or at the very least a compassionate understanding of elementary education students and families, would be a move with impact. I would also strongly advise against administration being permitted to hire family.

Worst experience ever. I am glad we are done with this school. God help those students and families that remain. Numbers have gone so low they have to combine many grade levels.

Our experience was generally negative. There are/were some very strong teachers that are exceptional and then there are many who are parents of students who just want to go to school with their children and are not really committed educators. There are numerous biases and certain families have had a distinct advantage and their children were the ones who receive the accommodations so it was not about merit. The new principal is over her head and is quite ineffective. It is unstable and she was supposed to "right the ship.' We left because we saw the handwriting on the wall. It is not getting better and a few "favored teachers" are the ones calling the shots. Avoid this place and look at other Catholic schools that are stable and strong. This one needs a few more years and possibly new leadership to gain its footing. A Catholic-centric environment needs to happen and then everything else will fall into place if it truly becomes a Christ-centered institution.
