If you already have a RentCafe resident portal account, you simply opt into the RentCafe Rewards program by logging in to your account: Menu > Renter Essentials > RentCafe Rewards. It’s that simple!
If you live at a RentCafe property but don’t have an account, register for the RentCafe resident portal to access the RentCafe Rewards program and start earning points.
If you do not live at a property that uses RentCafe or your property does not yet participate in RentCafe Rewards, stay tuned as new properties are joining our RentCafe Rewards network every day. We also encourage you to ask your property manager about it.
Earn points by signing up for Renter Essentials within RentCafe, such as renters insurance, internet, and security deposit assistance. Eligible services may vary by property. Check out the Renter Essentials section of your RentCafe resident portal to enroll in your available services.
As a RentCafe Rewards member, you can access your points balance by signing in to your secure resident portal. You will have a new menu item for “Renter Essentials”, which will have a sub-menu item for “RentCafe Rewards”. From there, you will be able to access your points balance and the RentCafe Rewards Marketplace, where you can shop for your reward.
Earn points by signing up for Renter Essentials within your RentCafe resident portal:
Insurance:
- Earn 100 points every month you have an active ResidentShield insurance policy.
RentCafe Internet:
Earn a lump sum of points after using RentCafe Internet for 90 consecutive days:
- New internet sign-up = 3,000 points
- New entertainment (streaming) sign-up = 600 points
- New mobile service sign-up = 375 points
- Service upgrade or transfer (any of the above) = 375 points
Security Deposit Assistance (SDA):
- Earn 500 points upon sign-up for SDA.
Rent Reporting and Credit Monitoring with services offered by IdentityIQ®:
- Earn a one-time bonus of 250 points when you sign up for Historical Rent Reporting.
- Earn 75 points every month you have an active Credit Advantage account.
Eligible services may vary by property.
Build your credit score by paying your rent. With rent payment reporting, your on-time, full rent payments are reported to the three major credit bureaus, which can help positively impact your credit score. When you sign up for RentCafe Rewards, you'll have the option to opt in to rent payment reporting and start building your financial future. This perk is included at no charge just for being a RentCafe Rewards member.
Rewards points within the program are transferrable to other properties that are part of the national network of RentCafe properties, which is currently over 90,000 apartment buildings. If you move to a property that is not in the RentCafe network, you will still be able to access your prior points balance and spend your points until they expire.
You will see your points appear on the RentCafe Rewards page of your RentCafe resident portal at different intervals, depending on the services you select. For more details, refer to the RentCafe Rewards Terms of Service.
No, this program is available for properties and residents located in the U.S.
Yes, points expire two years after they’re earned. In the RentCafe Rewards Marketplace, points will be used on a first-in-first-out basis, meaning you’ll spend your oldest points first.
Yes, any adult 18 years or older (19 years or older in Alabama or Nebraska), living in the United States who has a RentCafe resident portal account can sign up. Anyone who signs up can immediately benefit from the free credit reporting offered to all RentCafe Rewards members.
