Orlando’s average rent reached $1,389 in December, after a 3.1% decrease since last year. One of Florida’s largest job hubs and a renter household-majority city (65%), Orlando is a desirable place to live and work in, with apartment prices below the national average of $1,462.

The average rent for an apartment in Orlando saw a decrease, while in Kissimmee ($1,356) prices went up by 1.4% since last year, and in Sanford ($1,207), rent went up by 0.5%.

What it costs to rent in the largest renter hubs in the Orlando area

The city with the largest renter share is Orlando (65%), followed by Altamonte Springs and Kissimmee, where 59% of homes are renter households. In Altamonte Springs, apartment rents increased by 2.2% since last year, reaching $1,261. Sanford has the third largest share of renters (49%). In Maitland, where 48% of residents lease their homes, the average rent is $1,621, seeing an increase of 1.0% compared to the past year.
