They have been replaced by next in line based on renter households criteria and data availability.\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>For the final ranking, we considered the\u00a0<\/i>average rent to median renter income ratio<i>, % Share of High-End Apartments (A class &amp; B+), Crime Rate Index. Renter Household, Median Renter Income were extracted from U.S. Census (2018). After considering each variable, we summed up the rankings per city, reaching a final overall rank.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The crime rate index used was calculated based on data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (U.S. Department of Justice) and State Bureau of Investigation (for Carson City, NV &amp; Raleigh, NC). We used 2018 crime data, except for Des Moines, IA where the latest available data was from 2017.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>For the purpose of this study, we equated &#8220;high-end rentals&#8221; with &#8220;quality apartments&#8221;.
