Typical for this time of the year, fewer people are moving into new apartments. The national average rent inched up just 0.1% ($1) in October, with apartment rates essentially flat for the past few months.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in Alabama in October 2019<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent in Alabama cities is <strong> lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in October were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/madison-al\/\">Madison<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 9.4% year-over-year, or $84. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/tuscaloosa-al\/\">Tuscaloosa<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/huntsville-al\/\">Huntsville apartments<\/a>\u00a0saw the second highest annual increase, jumping by 6.9%, making them $72 and $55, respectively, more expensive than last year. The slowest rising rents were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/vestavia-hills-al\/\">Vestavia Hills<\/a>, where prices increased by 0.9% ($11) compared to October last year.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_81198879-40ad-444d-b593-c5eb7ce1f635\" title=\"Alabama - RentReport October\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?9pT\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/auburn-al\/\">Auburn apartments<\/a>\u00a0are the state&#8217;s most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,237, followed by <strong>apartments in Vestavia Hills<\/strong>, where the average monthly rent is $1,177.
