Typical for this time of the year, fewer people are moving into new apartments. The national average rent inched up just 0.1% ($1) in October, with apartment rates essentially flat for the past few months.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_52b5495f-9ad9-400b-a5bc-0de710a654dd\" title=\"Tennessee - RentReport October\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?Cpn\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script> <\/p>\n<h3>Renting in and around Nashville<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent near the state&#8217;s capital is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. In October, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/lebanon-tn\/\">Lebanon<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/gallatin-tn\/\">Gallatin<\/a> rental apartment\u00a0prices saw an increase of 1.0% ($11) month-over-month. On the other hand, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/murfreesboro-tn\/\">Murfreesboro<\/a> prices decreased by 0.6% ($7) compared to September.<\/p>\n<p>Of the cities analyzed in this area,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/brentwood-tn\/\">Brentwood apartments<\/a>\u00a0are the most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,514, followed by <strong>apartments in Franklin<\/strong>, where the average rate is $1,507. On the other hand, the cheapest city to rent an apartment is <strong>Lebanon<\/strong>, with an average apartment rent of $1,083.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in and around Memphis<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent near\u00a0Tennessee&#8217;s second largest city is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in October were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/collierville-tn\/\">Collierville<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 0.7% ($9) month-over-month, reaching $1,270. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/memphis-tn\/\">Memphis<\/a> apartments\u00a0saw an increase of 0.1% ($1) in rent compared to last month, reaching $809.
