The decrease might seem insignificant, but coupled with the slowest year-over-year hike in the past 13 months, 3.2% ($45), it points to a slight wind-down in rent prices in the context of a more volatile financial climate, according to Yardi Matrix.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_f44e38f7-d932-429a-acaa-6accb2d61d83\" title=\"Tennessee - RentReport September\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?5mW\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Renting in and around Nashville<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent near the state&#8217;s capital is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. In September, Goodlettsville rental apartment\u00a0prices saw an increase of 1.7% ($19) month-over-month. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/murfreesboro-tn\/\">Murfreesboro<\/a> apartments\u00a0saw an increase of 0.5%, making them $6 more expensive than last month, while in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/mount-juliet-tn\/\">Mount Juliet<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/franklin-tn\/\">Franklin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/smyrna-tn\/\">Smyrna<\/a> prices decreased by 0.2% ($3, $3 and $2, respectively) compared to August.<\/p>\n<p>Of the cities analyzed in this area,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/brentwood-tn\/\">Brentwood apartments<\/a>\u00a0are the most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,514, followed by <strong>apartments in Franklin<\/strong>, where the average rate is $1,497. On the other hand, the cheapest city to rent an apartment is Lebanon, with an average apartment rent of $1,047.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in and around Memphis<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent near\u00a0Tennessee&#8217;s second largest city is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in September were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/collierville-tn\/\">Collierville<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 1.7% ($21) month-over-month, reaching $1,275. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/germantown-tn\/\">Germantown<\/a> apartments\u00a0saw an increase of 1.1% ($17) in rent compared to last month, having the highest average price in the state, $1,590.
