With the peak rental season coming to an end, rent prices dwindled in the past month, displaying the slowest rise since February, 0.1% ($2). Rates rose slower than they did in August last year, exhibiting a shy monthly uptick commonly seen during the sluggish Autumn-Winter season.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_784b8100-e45b-476e-8451-6b0d7a896594\" title=\"Tennessee - RentReport August\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?S8E\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Renting in and around Nashville<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent near the state&#8217;s capital is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. In August, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/lebanon-tn\/\">Lebanon<\/a> rental apartment\u00a0prices remained the same month-over-month. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/murfreesboro-tn\/\">Murfreesboro<\/a> apartments\u00a0saw a slight decrease of 0.1%, making them $1 less expensive than last month, while in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/smyrna-tn\/\">Smyrna<\/a> prices decreased by 0.8% ($9) compared to July.<\/p>\n<p>Of the cities analyzed in this area,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/brentwood-tn\/\">Brentwood apartments<\/a>\u00a0are the most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,513, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/franklin-tn\/\">apartments in Franklin<\/a>, where the average rate is $1,500. On the other hand, the cheapest city to rent an apartment is <strong>Lebanon<\/strong>, with an average apartment rent of $1,046.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in and around Memphis<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent near\u00a0Tennessee&#8217;s second largest city is <strong>generally lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in August were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/memphis-tn\/\">Memphis<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 0.1% ($1) month-over-month, reaching $807. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/germantown-tn\/\">Germantown<\/a> apartments\u00a0saw no change in rent compared to last month, yet still have the highest average price in the state, $1,575.
