With the peak rental season coming to an end, rent prices dwindled in the past month, displaying the slowest rise since February, 0.1% ($2). Rates rose slower than they did in August last year, exhibiting a shy monthly uptick commonly seen during the sluggish Autumn-Winter season.<\/p>\n<h3>Renting in Alabama in August 2019<\/h3>\n<p>The average rent in Alabama cities is <strong> lower than the national average rent<\/strong>. The fastest growing rents in August were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/vestavia-hills-al\/\">Vestavia Hills apartments<\/a>, where rental apartment\u00a0prices increased by 8.8% year-over-year, or $100. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/madison-al\/\">Madison apartments<\/a>\u00a0saw the second highest annual increase, jumping by 7.5%, making them $66 more expensive than last year. The slowest rising rents were in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/phenix-city-al\/\">Phenix City<\/a>, where prices increased by 0.6% ($5) compared to August last year.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_bd38cd51-11c6-475e-8857-2a8cb4b16b5b\" title=\"Alabama - RentReport August\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?0En\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vestavia Hills apartments<\/strong>\u00a0are the state&#8217;s most expensive for renters, with an average rent of $1,238, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/apartments-for-rent\/auburn-al\/\">apartments in Auburn<\/a>, where the average monthly rent is $1,228.
